The things I'd do to get Sneijder to sign for us. Well, I've done some things I'm not proud of in my life but even I'm shocked at just how low my self-esteem seemingly is.

There has been a dutch attacking midfielder that moved from inter to london btw... was rather strange at that time too but i guess everyone here knows what happend... keep up the spirit. Spurs can offer Sneijder things big money clubs cant and i think like i said after real madrid and now this bollocks with inter he might actually prefer a club where he REALLY feels appreciated... Spurs can be that club... city can't

Agree with you, mate. Rafa was a God here. Sneijder can have the same influence and adulation.

Well indeed and I remain, as ever, downbeat but Liverpewel came in for VDV before we did and yet, it was us he joined. Ya never know. Peoples' priorities change etc. There's a chance at least, however small.

My only hope is that we don't act like a puppy chasing the lightspot on the wall yet again and ignore other targets completely.

I Agree.. and besides.. what other team should he really join? lets say its very likely to almost certain he will go to the premier league then the options would be:
Liverpool - lol, mid table side... wont be recovering any time soon.
Arsenal - not their policy, no way.
Chelsea - replacing lampard and under an owner who buys buys buys... giving you an uncertain future from the day that you start really... again after real and inter? no thank you
Manchester City - Same as chelsea really... look at how many strikers they had the last years... and he's not the star player there... just one of the superstars... too much of a galactico situation again... that went wrong... why choose for it again?
Man United - and competing with rooney for position in his home country while fighting with van persie on the training ground (its a public secret they dont like eachother) nope.
Tottenham Hotspur - Coming in a team with no superstars really, maybe Gareth Bale but he isnt a big ego man and not pelutant or anything like that afaik. Become almost an instant legend with shirt sales going through the roof from the moment you sign and show the world one last time what you are capable of before taking off to take some really big cash elsewhere. Maybe a club like LA Galaxy so his wife can persue her acting career, all this after putting spurs on the map as one of europe's greatest teams.

I know what i would've done.

Not sure how lots of different sources repeating the same story with no new info means its gathering momentum

It's Xmas. Someone's dropped a bomb and no ones around to check it with

Ah, the 'Dumb' monster strikes again

What's dumb there guys, come on, help me here?

I think Sneijder will know that taking over from Dempsey/Ade/Siggy whos performances, whilst not having always been poor, will be an opportunity for him to look like a world beater again. With Sandro/Dembele/Parker behind him and Bale/Defoe/Ade/Another goalscoring wide player?/Lennon/Dempsey(Gylfi?) alongside or ahead of him, he could be that missing piece of our puzzle.

I am not naive and don't rate the importance of that over wages or possibly even the recommendation of Rafa if it occurred. It may be a factor.

Your logic is impeccable. I just hope you are correct and lightening does strike twice. In fact, letting VDV go and doing the right thing by the human being and not just viewing him as a player might have been short-term pain for long-term gain if old Rafa has been in Wes's ear about us.

As for the bolded part - I did not know that. Or I'd forgotten all about it if I did know it. Is it really that bad, so bad it might actually prevent Sneijder thinking of Yanited as a realistic club to join? I only ask because I think the one other club who would seriously think about going for him other than us is those Manc bastards.
