Alli for Lucas. Keep Lamela on to see if he improves. I think we will be more at it second half.

Seems odd taking off Alli and leaving Lamela to see if he improves. History will teach us that Alli can come up with something from nothing even when playing badly but we don't get much from Lamela.

I'd be taking Lamela off first out of the 2

Something I've learnt today. There's a lot of Spurs fans with low expectations...
When you have been following us for over 30 years and after the good times of the 80s went you have to have low expectations. I've found it helps to not ruin my weekend.

I always find myself struggling to define what 'urgency' is though. In a game like this we just have to be patient then strike when a gap opens. Kane pissing away easy chances doesn't help.

Just upping the tempo can often just result in a ton of misplaced passes only to then get done on the counter.

I do agree about the movement though, we do need a bit more of that from Kane, Alli, Lamela etc and the gaps will open up.

There have been literally 100's of passes that could have been made at one or two touch, rather than four, five, or more. Too many players coming and wanting it to feet. Passes dribbled at snails pace to player, said passes also played behind a player instead of in front of him. As said, lack of movement. Not enough players getting into the box. Trippier and Rose not attacking that space, being decisive, and making use of switches of play, instead letting WBA defence shuffle across.

None of that requires dialling it up to 100mph and getting chaotic.

Lamela is hard working but really just doesn't offer enough as a creative player.
I'd never heard of him before we bought him and watched all his youtubes with great expectation. I found them all pretty disappointing and we effectively got what was on the tin.

He doesn't offer enough because he doesn't have what is required. No where near good enough to be starting in a top four team and wouldn't be amongst any of our rivals.

Just what the fuck was Vertonghen playing at there. Left us gaping wide open.
