What I didn’t get, and this was the daftest thing Poch - nearly - did today, was when he was about to swap Llorente for Rose - ie one of the only two players who might put a cross in for him. As it turned out, Vert went down and changed the plan.
When Mourinho goes "full Fellaini" - the entire team goes "full Fellaini". That's the only way it's gonna work and that's why it DOES work. Might not be pretty but it's earnt them points over the campaign.

If we bring on Llorente we need to go "full Llorente" - especially if Trippier's playing wing back. Otherwise - what's the point?

Can't disagree with that. Don't think Llorente will be with us next season though.

It would help if we made better choices & not have wasted £79m of the Bale money on Lamela and the other failures (Eriksen apart), and latterly Sissoko, Janssen, Llorente and the list goes on...
Out of all the ‘wasted bale money’ yiu want to single Lamela out for special mention? ?

Yeah if you are going to use the Llorente option it's got to be as part of a joined up plan. Options on each flank high and wide to put the ball in, and sometimes - which I don't think we do often enough anyway at set pieces, whoever is on the pitch considering we're quite a big team - just stand the ball up (a much less difficult skill than a perfectly whipped cross) and let him/whoever attack it, and then have runners picking up the second ball.

To go with this I also think, however much they have disappointed, that they've all been really slow (manager and players) with adapting and figuring out how to try and get something out of Janssen and now Llorente. If they're work is done back to goal and occupying/pinning a defender you need to get men playing in and around them and more runners from deep. Sporadically it's happened, Son built up an ok relationship towards the end running off Janssen to latch onto the lay off, but we don't really adapt enough to the player up top not being Kane.

This is exactly what I mean, it can’t just be a change in personnel, it needs to be *feed the target man*.

Leicester will absolutely show up to fuck us the final day if given the opportunity. They have nothing to play for right now and that explains their current form.
Will they, though? I know the fans hate us, but I don't think the players care. And if they turn up, will their desire to fuck us be greater than our desire to secure top four?

It may have escaped your attention but the two players remaining from the Bale money were mentioned in my post. Lamela cost nearly 3 times what we paid for Eriksen, but isn’t good enough to lace his boots. He represents the largest fee for the biggest pile of trash.

I know where you're coming from but huge change is not what we need. Stability going into the new stadium is. Upgrade the squad, yea, but there's no need to break the squad up by any means to "freshen things up". We are a good team, when we play well. The problem is when we don't play well or just 1 or 2 of our big played aren't on it, we struggle. It's those players we need to have strong back ups to.
It's more than back ups. Too many of our players have had ample time now at Spurs and should be moved on including Alderweireld, unfortunately, who doesn't appear to want to stay. So there's some decent money in outgoings, and a brand new stadium to begin anew. Sometimes in the lifecycle of a squad you have a decision to make about sticking or twisting, and this could be an opportunity. We're a really decent side, but the extra gear we need isn't just about back ups.

80 minutes into the game there was only going to be one winner. West Brom needed it more. Once again we are too one dimensional. Dropping Kane for the last 2 games might be the best idea. He looks at sorts currently.

Completely agree. When kane has been on the pitch the last few games we have been trying to hit him with every pass and cross , for his goals and it’s all come to obvious . No creativity at all.

I'm also really confused why Toby was played today. Doesn't make sense to me, he might off well just in the semi-final as well.
Unless Poch is now feeling some heat, and now has no option but too. With Jan out, Toby will play the last 2 games. Really confusing decisions...

And to rub salt into the wounds Southampton are winning which will send West Brom down so their win was meaningless. We will have lost to a relegated team. Football eh?
They haven't been relegated yet, have they? The reason we lose was indentified by Poch yesterday and Gallas before: complacency, which is a trait that has been there for decades.

I am incredibly frustrated. Feels unfortunately very 'spursy' and i hate that term.....

One paced and always in nfront of the team. No swift attacking or incisive passing.

Yesterday morning my 16th month old finally called his spurs teddy “spurs bear”, I thought it was a good omen. Since yesterday’s game I have been trying to teach him the phrase “lifetime of disappointment” but he is struggling with that!

I’m sorry son for the burden I have landed you with.

This is a joke, right?
I think that’s why they introduced the ignore button. That’s what I selected as soon as I read that garbage. Fickle or what. Kane has been rusty since the injury no doubt, but without it we’re fooked!

Just rewatched the goal on motd. That ball really should've been hugo's (anything in the middle of the 6 yard box should be the keepers) and would've been a few weeks ago. There was another one he left just before it too plus harry kanes near og. Looking like his recent errors have affected him a fair bit.

I love Poch but he has chosen a very bad time to kill the vibes. Ultimately the buck stops with Levy, but there seems to be a bad atmosphere around the club at the moment, and its Pochettino's job to stabilise the mood.

All these contract/transfer stories coming out three games before the end of the season are completely unprofessional and demoralising, and that, I suppose, is what modern football is all about.

It’s happened before too the last 2 seasons. Especially 2 years ago.
