This is not a postcard, but a nutshell: Kaboul was completely rusty; if West Ham have half decent strikers, we would be certainly have lost. Dier was the man of the match, a £4M player outshining a £30M one in Eric Lamela, who showed neat touches but not the dynamism we were hoping for. Hotby and Townsend, when they came on, displayed the required energy and urgency. The midfield trio of Capoule, Bentelab and Erickson were capable and the Frenchman made some vital interceptions. Naughton's sending off, and even the penalty, was unfair--a mistake by the linesman, IMO. But the extra fitness sessions definitely paid off, as we were still full of running, and indeed scored the winner in the 91st minute, even as we played one man short for almost half the game. Before MOTD ruins it for me, is it possible for a kind fan to give a brief & honest account about was good? What was bad? What could we improve upon?
After hearing Phil Thompson's 'report' I have this horrible feeling that Kaboul & co at the back weren't at their best. Perhaps showing the same signs of disorganisation that plagued us last year.
How long will it be before Vertonghen is pressed back into service? Will the Poch now put the squeeze on the Mussacchio deal & ask for it to be hastened through?
Answers on a postcard please.
agree about the pen but not a red card,Can't agree with Ginola007 pen view. Naughton had both hands above his head and
it was a great save lol. Def pen imo & if we have one like that & don't get it given I'd be bloody livid.
Pretty fair assessment on rest of it though.
Well, you are half right.I fail to see how Franco Baldini can justify spending nearly 30 Mil on Lamela. All his play is based on laying the ball off with a flick or pass..We are supposed to believe that this kid, that ive never seen beat a man, can suddenly be as dynamic as someone like Bale is a farce. Hatem Ben Ahfa is the type of player that could do that and would have been far cheaper. We are Tottenham not Madrid we cannot afford to spend that kind of money on a unproven prospect..smh
My 2 cents:
- Danny Rose was simply outplayed by Downing, if ever we needed reinforcements, its here. So many crosses came over when SD stepped inside. Sorry not good enough.
My 2 cents:
5. Ade worked hard as did Bentley [the boy does look like he is getting better].
Seriously losin it haha obviously meant to say KaneHe can't get any better mate. He had become so good he eventually retired.
