Smacks of a Plan C deadline day move if we haven't signed our primary targets....

Still, Ravel Morrison is better than Rasiak....

Someone mentioned just yesterday Morrison had started "following all of the club's instagram accounts." Worth at least mentioning.

Sounds exactly like a Levy Deadline Day move, wouldn't surprise me if this happens.

Morrison has some talent....seems to lack the focus and attitude to capitalize on his talent on a consistent basis.

Reid....solid enough, was actually more impressed with Tompkins when i watched them last year though but i am not sure i would actually want either as someone in our CB rotation.

The rumours were that Fattest Sam tried to pressure Morrison into signing with an agent mate of his, and when he refused, Morrison was dropped and packed off to QPR on loan.

Fat Sam denied this was the case.

Allardyce likes a lawsuit, so I couldn't possibly allege that he has form for this kind of behaviour.

I will say that Morrison looked Spam's most talented attacking player in the first half of the season, and if he can resist getting involved in the aftermath of street robberies he might become a top player..... :);)

These two are probably are primary targets and Levy will just take it to deadline day for the haggle of it lol

I've felt for a while that Reid was our plan D center back, he won't renew his contract so West Ham will be already planning for life without him. Nothing spectacular but possibly an upgrade on Dawson, and we do need to keep our homegrown player count about where it is now. Morrison has some talent, but I really think there are better midfielders out there we can grab, and if we do move for him it better be because Poch feels he can get him straightened out because one head case player can really tear a squad apart.

Both are decent.
I'd take Reid as a CB option happily but whether Morrison is better than what we have I doubt, still he's young and pretty improvable.
I dunno if it's just since Broomfield got back or a general policy but we seem to be looking very much in-league, both signings and a hell of a lot of rumours are PL based.

If we are planning to play out from the back, Reid could be a really questionable option coming from the Hoofball Land that is West Ham. It doesn't mean he can't play out the back successfully, but it could be a hindrance.

Guardian article excerpt:

With reported interest from the likes of Swansea and CSKA Moscow, Allardyce would likely listen to offers for the England Under-21 international but the Hammers co-owner David Sullivan says the board is keen to keep Morrison at the club.

“Sam has said Ravel is not part of his plans but we do – as a board – see him as part of our plans,” Sullivan told TalkSport. “I think he [Allardyce] said in a press conference, if I read it correctly, he’s not part of his plans for this season. I think he said that in New Zealand but we don’t agree with that. We would like to sit down and give him a longer contract.”

Discussions between the manager and the board will no doubt be required to iron out any difference of opinion regarding Morrison, with Sullivan aware that having the player sat on the bench on a long contract would not be beneficial. “We do like him,” Sullivan added. “We do see him as part of the long-term future of the club but we have to agree it with the manager because there’s no point signing a player he’s not going to play.”

Morrison was left at home as the remainder of the West Ham squad jetted off for a pre-season tour of New Zealand, with the club confirming he underwent successful groin surgery.

Having spent time at St George’s Park since his operation, Morrison should be fit and ready to rejoin the first-team squad when they return from the long-haul trip but it remains to be seen if he will feature in the opening Premier League match against Tottenham.

A whole pile of "meh".

Wouldn't hate it, but definitely would not be excited in the least.

Morrison seems pretty talented, and made Dawson and Jan look a pair of prize puddings last season; it's a shame that he's such a noxious little shit. Reid just looks like another one that's OK but no better than what we have.

Morrison would actually be a very clever purchase.. amazing skills, very fast runner, has goals in him, not expecting to be starting every week..

and if Poch could add some discipline to his character we could, possibly, have a world class player for not much money..

Could be worth the gamble as he really could become a world beater if coached correctly and the club look after him properly so he matures.

Gary Neviile has said numerous times that Morrison is one of the best talents he's ever seen.

Could be a shrewd move admittedly, if something can be done with his character. Seems a bit of a tit.
