A couple of days ago i randomly recorded a couple of episodes of Premiership Classics on ESPN. To my (pleasant) surprise, one of them is our game just after christmas 2007 at home to Reading(6-4 if you're mental and don't remember it ).

Excluding some poor defending, we nailed them, with Berbatov almost unplayable. I appreciate Reading were hardly Barcelona but the one thing that made me smile was how much better our squad is now.

Here's the squad that day:

Robinson, Chimbonda, Kaboul, King, Lee, Lennon, Jenas, Huddlestone, Malbranque, Berbatov, Keane
Subs: Cerny, Taarabt,
Defoe, Tainio, Boateng

You may think that not much has changed.....King, Lennon, Huddlestone and Defoe are still regulars, but the latter 3 have improved massively since this game, and King is.....well, King. Kaboul, Jenas and Keane are very good squad players.

Onto the players who don't play for us any more. Berbatov is obviously sorely missed as would any player of his ilk, but we got a very good price for him. We now have Gomes rather than Robinson, Corluka/Hutton over Chimbonda, Assou-Ekotto over Lee(sorry Lanh), Bale over Malbranque and i haven't even mention Dawson, Gallas, Palacios, Sandro, Modric, Van Der Vaart, Crouch or Pavlyuchenko!!

I for one am very happy with that

2 years ago this week we got beaten by Udinese 2-0 away after being hammered by Stoke and had 2 points from 8 games.

Currently on 14 points from 8 in the league and showing we can hurt the best teams on the world stage.

I LOVE TOTTENHAM
