For people who weren't born into it through family or location, what drew you to Spurs?

I'm a season ticket holder at Glasgow Rangers and have been since I was 8 years old, but strangely I became obsessed with Spurs when Alan Hutton (of all people) joined and have watched every minute of every game since. I don't even know why, but I really love Spurs as much as Rangers and it makes no sense to my rational brain...

Hoping to make my 10th trip to WHL for my first North London derby this season.

What's your story?

I was born into it but I don't understand why people choose Spurs. It's like begging for a miserable life.

I still love the club with all my heart though :)

Saw Ossie and Hoddle on TV in about 1980 when I was 6, never looked back. Up till then my dad took me to palace games. Never took to palace. But was 11 when first visited the lane.

Family allegiance. Also this feeling that you have to fight to support them. Against opposition fans, your own fans, shitty results, shitty situations, shitty arguments and shitty optimism. What's more is that you can see it repeat itself through our whole history. We're always fighting something and we have fought for everything we have accomplished so we know we truly earned it.

Gives you an insight into the thought process' of the flagellant priests during the black death.

Caught my first game when we first got cable TV to my house in 2001 or 2002.. cant remember that well but I'm pretty sure both Ted and Les were in the team playing against Birmingham/Ipswich? at home but what really was amazing for me was the crowd at the Lane making itself heard through the telly! Goosebumps at every corner with COYS etc.. electric

So I guess the crowd at WHL drew me towards Spurs , really got into it when Edman came over being Swedish and all :ROFLMAO:

Supporting Spurs has more ups and downs than whore's drawers.

And it won't change. Gladly. Don't want to be a plastic fan. I'll stick with my choice/love

It's been 41 years since my first final at Wembley, but there have been many since.

Even when we were drifting through the 90's it has always been a pleasure to support Spurs and there's always been that feeling that we could beast anyone on our day. I picked Spurs because of Gazza and Lineker, I was quite young but I wouldn't exactly call it glory hunting.

That dark green shirt they wore for the away kit during the 2003 season I think, I used to love that colour and somehow ended up thinking it was also the colour of our shorts on the home kit (I didn't have a good tv back then). It wasn't until years after that when I started wondering when exactly did we switched colors, as by that time I already identified Spurs with their true colors.

How did that turned into love and passion I have no idea, but the key may reside inside Berbatov and his past badassery.

When I was 6 a kid I didn't like asked me which team I supported. I asked him who his team was and he said Arsenal. I asked who their biggest rivals were & he said Spurs. I said I was a Spurs fan.

I started out mainly just watching players that I liked. I'm from Baltimore, Maryland (now living in Annapolis) and have grown up despising teams that buy their way to Championships. So for me, it was about supporting a club that does things the right way but was still competitive. My first introduction to Spurs was in 98 when I visited London and Paris for the World Cup ( I still have the Football is Coming Home CD I bought, not sure why though). I traded a Michael Jordan jersey for a Klinsman Tottenham top. I passively followed them at that point but became a true supporter in 09.I was fortunate enough to catch several league games on Fox Soccer that season. The following season with CL drew me even further in. Watching Spurs battle for CL and finish Top 4 was elating, watching Chelsea crush that dream gutted me. It was at this moment I was hooked, the more I watched the more of a fan I became. Each year my devotion has grown and I find myself spending more time on this forum than should be allowed.

Ah a fellow Scot, remember Huttons game against Italy! He really was unreal that day. By bloody hell he was shit for us. The game at arsenal sticks out in my mind. Shocking heartless and downright pish

Was maybe 6 or 7 and my mom went to England for a medical convention. At that time i was big basketball fan ( San Antonio Spurs and Seattle Sonics ) so on her way back she bought me some Tottenham Hotspur underwear thinking it was the same San Antonio Spurs :ROFLMAO: I tried em on and absolutely fell in love with the fabric, color and texture, so inevitably i fell in love with Spurs. :p

91 cup final. I supported them before that but in name alone. Went to school in Edmonton at the time and had to pick either Spurs or Arsenal (simpler time when where you lived was who you supported). Picked Spurs because the majority supported Spurs. Funny thing was the Jewish kids in the class all supported Arsenal. How fucking twilight zone is that? After the final I was hooked. Why didn't I pick Arsenal....shudders.... Never regretted my decision. Love Spurs:)

The first EPL match I ever saw. Saw Lennon's assist to Tainio and boom I was a fan. Been a masochist since then and boy, am I glad I did not end up being a West Ham fan.
