Born into it, our family came from Hackney and as far as I know it started with my great granddad and was passed on to my granddad and his brother my dad and my brother then me. My cousin is a fan (my late uncle was a Gooner but cuz saw the light) and so are my nephew and niece, my daughters and one of their partners although my eldest daughter husband is American he has been to see them live and is an adopted fan, now our grand daughter and grand son (the first Anglo American supporter but at five months he might change). My wife was a Leeds fan but is now a Spurs fan. My family bleed blue and white.

WHL is really a giant inverted magnet build at the terminal point of a Lay Line. I have a metal plate in my head (or for a head, some may say). One day I felt a sudden, irresistible force. I was lifted off my feet and...ping, my bonce was stuck to the gate :shifty:

1981 FA Cup final. Live football matches on the telly were extremely rare during those days in Malaysia. My interest in football had just started at that time, so it was really timely that it was Spurs that was playing in the final.

They had the better colour, white seemed so cool, and of course there was Glenn Hoddle. Genius. Fell in love with Spurs instantly and the rest as they say is history.

Cant imagine if it was Bolton in that final with their white shirt. (shudder)

Since then though? I can't really think of much, we picked up some fans in 1995 when we signed a bunch of stars from the World cup I am sure. Klinsmann's signing was such a big deal and I personally know some Romanian's who became fans due to Petrescu and Dimtrescu for example plus that season there was a buzz of excitement about us as a team that hadn't been seen since the Cup winners Cup season in 92 and wasn't really seen again until the Redknapp era

It was Popescu, not Petrescu. Petrescu played for those idiots in blue.

I was a glory hunting Man Utd fan as a wee lad, and then lost interest in football for a few years. My older brother was a Spurs fan and a relative gave me a giant picture of Darren Anderton with a pack of felt-tip pens as a gift, assuming that I was a Spurs fan too.

As I sat there, mindlessly colouring in Darren's face a peculiar shade of atomic-orange, I was suddenly struck by the absurdity and the masochism of what I was doing. Who was this man? Why was I shading him the colour of sunburnt lobster? Why did that chicken badge look so alluring on his white shirt? Why on earth would an 8 year old from London with no ties to Manchester support Man Utd?

In that instant I shed my ties with Utd and pledged my allegiance to the tangerine deity, hanging him proudly on my bedroom wall.

It's been non stop absurdity and masochism ever since.

Went to my first game as a six year old and didnt know any of the players but just fell in love with the electric atmosphere and those lilywhite shirts.......God they were brilliant....life long love affair ever since.

My Auntie bought me a Spurs holdall bag when I was 6 years old and that was it. I knew nothing about football, probably didn't even care about it at the time but the way I see it, she could have bought me a bag for literally ANY other club and for whatever reason she chose Spurs.

My older bro was a Liverpool fan already so could have copied him but glad I didn't.

They might pull us through the ringer a lot but I genuinely believe that I was meant to support Spurs and I honestly wouldn't change a single thing about us.

As the mug on my desk says (thanks to one Ledley King) "This is my club my one and only club"
