exactly.. spot of cunning editing going on there to avoid showing that actually he ran round half the opposition and the passed it to the corner flag
i agree and disagree.

While he has never really had much of an end-product, at least back then he could pass players, cut in and then play a short pass to anyone else...

Now he does neither..

Maybe he needs the magical powers of the blue shorts! If he stays next season let's see what happens; the return of the blue shorts and the introduction of the hooped socks could have an amazing impact on him!!!!

It is a confidence thing. Play him in a team that is on top of its collective game and you'll see that Lennon.

Agreed. Once we're in full flow with modric spraying passes about & hutton & bale bombing forward you will see us stretching teams more and Lennon will be able to exploit that. This season it's almost been up to Lennon to soley stretch teams and create something - very difficult for ali little 21 year old winger.

He is still there, his season has been a bit stop-start due to injuries but on his day he is awesome, cant wait to see him get an injury-free run in the side next season.

I can think of numerous occasions last season and this where he's been standing out on the right like a spare dick at a wedding and no-one has noticed he's in space and thought to pass to him—particularly in situations where he can run on to the ball and utilise his pace.

yeah, so every player makes mistakes.. point is, on the whole, he has had a torrid season, compared to the last two seasons, one of which got him picked for England!

he was amazing back then. im not going to deny the truth... i got wet watching him...

but, now...

He left essien flat on his arse and crossed it Hudd for the handball which brought us back into the CC final so I think I can forgive him no living up to past standards this season

Sorry but I have to say Robinson's (promised myself i wouldn't mention Robbo name again on here oh well) attempted save on Zamora headed goal was pathetic

Loved that game.

That's why I said, 'and this'.

One game last season some idiot commentator (possibly Pleaty) said, 'He needs to come and find the ball', or words to that effect. Well, yes, because no-one's passing it to him, you twonk!

I wouldn't dispute for a moment that some areas of Lennon's game haven't come on as much as we'd have wished. But by the same token, we haven't really played to his strengths. Exactly what is the point of neat sideways passing (with the ball frequently going back to Robbo or Cerny)? Lennon's trump card is his pace. Get the ball to him quickly, and early, and utilise it.

You don't use it, you lose it.

that would be why you said it, some reason i didnt read that bit when i was reading over it....

wih our team beinge very one sided IMO (especialy once Bale was out injured) with Steed most the time coming into midfield the other team can afford to sit slightly more to there left (our right) meaning it gives Lennon less room and less space, saying that we did try and attack down the left at times, but we never used the extra space well with Steed coming in too much on the left and with no real LB coming up to overlap who could cross we were lacking anything.

I do think we will see a more fit Lennon next season and will see him back to doing what he does best!

I'm slightly confused by this thread. I was expecting that I had missed some moment where Lennon had turned into Maradona. I am pretty sure if I had the time and the copies of the games I could make a montage where Lennon has done exactly those same things it not better in the last 5 games he has played. I wish i could be bothered (or had the time) to make a video but well I do have better things to do. Lennon is still a real threat to any team we play, he hasn't 'gone' anywhere.

Think being a 'footballer' rather than playing it became the priority. This (shared with and) due to collecting a group of young players with few if any leader/role models around them...a major reason i suspect Ramos will break up 'the party'.

Lennon may still become the player we're all hoping for.

OTOH, that singer will never cover that song better than Freddie Mercury, but who could?

Just watched the clip and when Zamora scored the ball went in shoulder height almost in the middle of the goal, wow I had forgotten how bad Robbo really had got.

A clear feature of Ramos' game plan is the rapid counter-attack, which I think we shall see more of next season and thus we shall see the best of wee Aaron. As I, and others, have said many a time already, with Modric and Bale on the left, we shall see Lennon finding more space rather than the Berlin Wall.
