New thread on KUMB kicks off with a picture of Stuart Pearce threatening to punch someone and bemoans the fact that the current West Ham team lack 'toughness', are generally 'too nice' and get 'bullied'. There's a lot of agreement with this point, although a number of posters did identify a host of other shortcomings...

"Add that to pace, fitness. decision making. We lack a ****ing whole lot of things!"

"It's not just the toughness, it's the all round 'will to win' ingredient that's missing."

"It's a mental and physical quality we lack and why we've rolled over far too easily this season, getting dicked without putting up much of a fight for 90 mins."

So far, pretty standard 'Let's all laugh at West Ham' fare. So, who should West Ham emulate? One poster has the answer:

"As much as we hate them, Spurs, as one example, are currently littered with tough playing men, such as Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Walker, Wanyama, Dembele, Sissoko and Kane. Even the likes of Alli, although a kid, is prepared to get proper stuck in (although I don't like some of his antics).

Their team plays like it too with everyone fighting for the ball and not giving a thing up."

(y)

Praise is always sweeter when it comes through gritted teeth.

Pearce would have sorted this current Spurs team out though, eh? Apparently not, as one poster remembers when...

"Stuart Pearce closed his eyes going up for a header against Spurs at Upton Park in an FA Cup quarter final. He missed the ball, took out one of ours, and Rebrov scored. We lost 3-2. From that moment I could never consider Stuart Pearce a hardman,"

Maybe not. But that description will stay with me now and I'll always think of him as quintessentially West Ham. Nice one, Psycho.

:D

All I got from that is that this dude is the only dude who envies us having Sissoko. Now if only we can transplant his brain into Bilic

Even Winks. Went absolutely mental when pulled around/fouled on Sunday. Dier doesn't mind a bit of aggro on the pitch, either.

From KUMB on a discussion about the Dele pen at the weekend :LOL::LOL:

Reading this today has cheered me up and helped me realise what a privilege it is to be a West Ham fan.

The fact that we hate cheating. Cheating to the point that if our players do it they get a hard time here. We don't like it. Especially from our own players.

My fellow supporters are in general very fair and football minded. Yes we dish it out to the opposition but stand up and applaud players that may have got the better of us. An example Ray Wilkins when at QPR.

Of course would rather we would be cheering on our own, and have special times like last season.

Us West Ham UNITED fans are really the very best, most knowledgeable fans anywhere and really really deserve a successful future.

Okay we probably lost it a bit that day but i still remember Dier running around trying to decapitate the entire Chelsea team last season :ROFLMAO:

It was an utter joy to watch, if any team deserved to get kicked all over the pitch it was those ****s.

Some comments on Wanyama from Arsenal fans o_O

I can't take seriously anyone who is advocating for Wanyama. Poverty of a footballer.

Just because we have Coq in our squad, it doesn't follow that Wanyama is good enough to join us

All it means is that Coq isn't good enough to be a starter here. Neither is Wanyama. Can't believe we have this discussion again. If Wanyama played here he'd be hounded out of the club just like Coq is. Lad can't pass the ball more than 5 metres.

Lad just runs around clobbering people ffs

Imagine bringing in him and Barkley to our team, would be rivalling Stoke

Wanyama would literally get sent off every few games for us. He gets away with a ridiculous amount of fouls at the Spuds where he would be getting yellows for first foul offences.

Many of our fans were saying the same things about Wanyama when we were linked with signing him. Too many fans slag off players without actually watching them play. There are quite a few here who think Wanyama was not good enough to tie Dier's boot laces. It was embarrasing reading those posts.

Not too different to MANY of the opinions on here when we signed him. Definitely a player you appreciate more once he's in your team. Leagues ahead of Cocquelin.

So pretty much standard Wanyama bashing there on Arsenal mania and it was all going so well until one of their own pointed out the following to them...

"Wanyama's passing stats are one of the highest in the league at 6th with a 87% passing accuracy. The closest Arsenal player is Xhaka in 15th place. He has 89% accuracy with fewer passes, he also has a shorter average distance of pass and 12 fewer key passes. The next Arsenal player is Özil with the same 87% but fewer passes. Though he has 55 key passes compared to Wanyama's 28. Coquelin 88% accuracy average; 15 yards; 13 key passes. He's down at 78th with Wanyama, that horrible passer, up at 6th. Basically Wanyama's passing stats are better than anyone currently in our midfield according to Squawka and Premierleague.com."

In other words, the "lad who can't pass the ball more than 5 metres" is actually better at it than Ozil...

I dunno how anyone can not rate Wanyama, he's proven to be a beast this season, in fact, I don't understand why some of our fans were bashing him last summer prior to signing him, he did well at Southampton and thought he was a snip at 11m even at the time I thought he was going to be a squad player with Dier being the maIn CDM.

With those woolwich twats still saying he's crap just goes to show it doesn't matter how well a player can play, if they play for a team you don't like then there is a good chance they will think that player is shit and if they can't see big vic is better than 35m xhaka then they're simply retarded.

He is my defacto MOTM before we kick off. I then review thinking maybe it's Toby or Christian but then think better of it.

The opinions above remind me of that video of Ty when asked about which a spur would get in to the Arse team... I turned off at Cech is better than Hugo.
