Those last 4 words. "Learned from last year".

We have always almost never learned from past years. Time and time again we falter in April and May.

Dislike or disagree or spam this if u want but that, folks, is the reality.
There is always a first time. We are not standing still. We are evolving under the guidance of Pochettino.

How about we wait until April and May before we decide if we have or haven't learnt from last year?

Tottenham is kinda like the fairytale Leicester story of last season. We haven't won the league since 61.

Certainly could be seen that way but we've been in the top league for far too long and have far too many haters, including at Sky Sports, for us to be portrayed that way.

Some of the latest snippets from Bluemoon... Pessimism in abundance:smug::

The only weakness Spurs had was a lack of quality wingers but he's gone to a back 5 with wingbacks and that's eradicated that!

We should play like the away side, soak up the pressure and hit them on the counter.
Worked well v Barcelona!

Think it will very similar to the Leicester home game last season, with us being overrun by their strong and powerful midfield. 1-3.

I like your optimism, and it's a possibility we might score more then them. But I think the likelihood will be, like last year, they overpower us in midfield, nick the ball time and time again and cut through our back two (fullbacks will be near the opposition penalty box) like a knife through butter.

I see your point but Spurs have a really well balanced side and their attacks will come from both flanks and will totally dominate the middle of the park. I just can't see us winning any battles in any part of the pitch which is scandalous to say considering the coach we have.

We will be 1 down in 4 mins,5 down by 87 mins

Id say Bravo Pep if i saw Big Willy's shiny dome standing erect in our virgin barely used new tunnel this weekend .

I have no idea how we can play to win this game with the players at Pep's disposal. Counter attacking once they over-commit is probably the best option.

I'm feeling good today. We'll smash them. 3-0. (if we can score first in the first 20 mins - otherwise we'll lose 0-5...)

City to win 2.1 Bravo never puts a foot wrong, Vinny returns outsprinting every Spurs player that pushes the ball past him, then sprints a lap of the pitch at the end holding Bravo aloft..........I've had new meds form the docs, no real adverse affects as yet

I think it is quite refreshing that they are prepared to laugh at their situation whilst being genuinely afraid of us

It's a bit strange really. You would think they are a mid table team, not sitting in 5th place with Aguero, Silva, Toure and KDB etc.

When you have a net spend of £400+ million over the past 5 years + the biggest wage bill in the league, your expectations are going to be a lot higher than 5th.

Weirdly I'm always almost never confident when we play as "favourites" against the bigger teams. I much prefer it when we go in as underdogs...

I had the same feeling against Arsenal at home and Chelsea away last season. Almost a built up expectation that we'll come away with the three points. Always risky!

From Bluemoon:

"
I watched Silva speak in spanish on an english interview the other day. Why the feck is he not speaking in english, after all we have only made him a ziliionaire, rude ****."

Just had a look into this and the longest winning streaks of the champions in each of the last few season:

2011 - Man United - 4
2012 - Man City - 7
2013 - Man Utd - 7
2014 - Man City - 8
2015 - Chelsea - 4
2016 - Leicester - 5

So the notion that a title winning team needs to go on a run of 10 consecutive wins is simply wrong. What Chelsea have done this season is a freak. A look at the longest 'streaks' of each title winner in those last 6 seasons actually indicated that its more crucial that when champions slip up, they get back to winning ways immediately (unfortunately exactly as Chelsea have just shown).

Your point in a later post is valid, however - title winning teams usually win 25-27 of their total league games, so we probably need to be winning 11 or 12 of our remaining 17 games to have a hope - but that's kind of a given anyway considering we're 7 points behind the leaders.

Yes, the 10 win streak I quoted is a bit misleading I accept that - but if you were to analyze all those years you listed those teams won those streaks then a draw THEN another 4, 5, 6 wins etc. They just kept that going all season to rack up the win numbers I am talking of. We simply will not make the win numbers up. Not possible. Not unless we won the next 10 on the bounce MINIMUM or only had a couple of draws from now till then end of the season and the rest wins.. Or maybe only had 1 loss from now till the end of the season and the rest wins....It just wont happen.

From Bluemoon:

"
I'm beginning to think Bravo could catch the ball, turn around, hurl it into his own net, and still get selected the following week."

"What makes you think Bravo could catch a f***ing ball?"

I think City fans are the most likeable out of the top 6, no doubt about it.

If it was Liverpool we were playing they would be saying they are going to turn us over by 7 goals.

It's because City's current batch of supporters are from a semi-relatable background and know their history.

In 20 years time when the next generation of City fans completely forget how they came in to success it'll be a different story and they will be as intolerable as the rest of them.
