You know you’re in a proper FA cup tie when your opponents manager in the post match interview in the previous game says:

“We’ve had a lot to deal with in the build up to this week, we had a fire at the training ground”

Newport fans are excited...

Before the draw came out:
baa baa baa ba baa

Drawn against us:
BAAAAAAAA BAAAAAA BAAAAAAA :D:D

But no.. seriously, they are excited (each line a separate post):

Harry Kane coming to the County. It's Spurs at home. Yippeeeee!!!!!!!!

Yahoo!!!brilliant draw.

Ace draw ! Got to be on tv so that’s £144k - hold em to a draw and replay at Wembley ! Get in.

I was there the last time we played Spurs at Home, Danny Blanchflower was playing ffs

My concern is tickets. I wonder how they will be allocated. Every man and his dog will want the opportunity to see Harry Kane.

This time last year we were on our arse' here we are a year later just off the playoff positions with a match against Spurs in the fourth round of the cup unbelievable Jeff !

Genuinely are.....huge, huge draw for County.
My phone has gone into meltdown this evening from both County and Welsh Spurs supporting mates (the latter mostly asking me to get them tickets).

Spurs are one of the best supported clubs in S Wales so there is massive interest.

They seem very excited by the prospect of playing against Kane and I wouldn’t like to deny them that.

However in all honesty I really hope he doesn’t play so he can avoid getting the shit kicked out of him for 90 mins.

Mate, I honestly can’t think of anything as bad as that, if that happened to me I would be crushed. I am a sticks and stones guy but for me that would be soul destroying, really feel for Livermore if he got that abuse.
Just a question, but are you white and straight...and a parent? If so then perhaps it is because you can truly identify with one of those things but lack the frame of reference for the others. No judgment, just saying. Regardless, any of that abuse is sickening.

I reckon we could beat them at Rugby because of Big Vic.
How in the hell did you reply to that message and not blow a gasket?

Hopefully the club will not just look to attract fans who can afford to pay the most for this game.
There is a balance - the young fans who saw the County beat Leeds and could put many hundreds of match day payments back into the club; similarly those that see the Spurs.

You really are a changed man...

Are you really going to hold all newport fans up for the action of one fan?
Should we all be held in the same view as the fan who threw piss on west ham fans?

Yeah don't know about you but I throw piss over people all the time.

Anyone particular reason for this being so? Genuinely interested.

Woah someone took that a bit too seriously.

It tends to go in age groups i.e. those who were attracted to the double winning sides, 80s FA Cup exploits then the younger generation due to recent success and Gareth Bale. Plus of course the sons & daughters of people like myself.
Ignoring the 90s we've always played the sort of football that people are drawn too as well and add to the mix that its only an hour and a half on the train from Newport to London.
Man Utd and Liverpool are by far the best supported clubs in S Wales, then probably Cardiff. After that it's more than likely Spurs.
Also among 40/50 somethings I know more Villa, Man City, Everton, Leeds, even West Brom than I do Chelsea or Arsenal!

For me it started when most of my mates were Liverpool fans and I didn't want to do the same as everyone else. I liked the name Spurs and it was 1981!
