We’ve finished about Liverpool 8/9 seasons now, with us never finishing outside the top 6, them finishing as low as 8th.
This despite them having a far higher net transfer spend and salary the entire time.

As for them easing off, we were always going to finish above them if we won our game in hand v Newcastle, which has been a game in hand for several months. Nothing to do with the CL final, everything to do with us being the second highest point achievers in 2018, behind only Man City by 1 point,

To me that argument is invalid anyway just for the fact that we've been at a disadvantage from the very start of the season, being at Wembley.

I'm sure they will be thinking about that when they are fighting for the CL trophy next weekend.

They, and City, are a great team to watch. As are we, most of the time. We can celebrate great players and entertaining football, wherever it happens.
I never said otherwise, I’m really not sure from where you infer that I think we shouldn’t enjoy watching them. All I’ve said is that we have been better than them for pretty much a decade and remain better than them as the league, where we always finish ahead these days, does not lie. I caveated that by commenting that, should they beat Madrid this month, they would then have a semi credible argument that my above comment is no longer true.

I never made any comment on playing styles or enjoyment of other club’s exciting football,

People on this site need to stop reading things that aren’t in black and white and just respond to what posters have actually said, conversation and debate would flow far more freely.

True but do you really think Liverpool need any extra help celebrating themselves?

A cup run doesn't make them more likely to win the league over 38 games though.
They perhaps might have posed more of a challenge to Man United at the very least, had they not had that cup run.

Europe is draining and going far into the CL very much so. I think it's ok to give credit where it is due and Liverpool have had a very good Season, which could be amazing IF they win the CL. Real Madrid are an equally prime example of this, they played well within themselves early doors and whilst they have very Little excuse given thjeir Budgets and players, as soon as they slipped in the league they went all out for Europe and virtually gave up on the league.

Come on guys I hate Liverpool as much as anybody but lets face it, they've had a strong season, made it to the cleague final, played better football than us and scored more goals and we have to play in a brand new stadium, there is a reason they are favourites ahead of us.

All that said let's hope we smash the transfer window and then fucking smash them.
