They talk about us bottling it. Weren't they like 5 points clear with a few games to go to win the league and completely bottled it. Plus finishing below us every year except that one in recent memory
We "bottled it" from second place.

They BOTTLED IT from top, you know, actually bottling it.

Tbf we are kings of tactical fouling and verts is our god.

Not saying we don't do it but it is a typical Pep tactic stretching back years and they do it more than anyone... so its deluded to call us out for it.

From Arsenal Mania

Spurs have been excellent. Pochettino needs to **** off to Real Madrid

This is a big performance and looks set to be a big result for Spurs

WoW. What a goal.

Song made Jorginho ******* ***... He should have fouled him. Then, there's David Luiz. He is having a nightmare.

This is game done and dusted.

Good night.

Spurs best start in years apparently, I somehow convinced myself they were having a mediocre season. Must have been the Champions League failures.

Another way to look at it is that they are potentially only 3 points ahead of us with their best start ever, with a side that’s been settled for 3 years while we’re in transition.

Unless they start winning things nobody going give a f**k about thier best period

It’s annoying to see how well Spurs are playing in this match. Can’t wait to face the scum in the coming weeks

Every top team that’s played against Chelsea has created loads of chances in their games, somehow they’ve got away with it until today

We will not catch Chelsea, let's be realistic.

If we can't beat Spurs at home, we probably are not good enough for a Top 4 Spot.
Don't follow this reasoning at all. Spurs are better than Chelsea, finished ahead of them last season and are ahead of them again this season, despite having had a much harder start to the season / not having a stadium.

Why would we be able to catch Spurs and not Chelsea?

Absolutely shocking from Chelsea. This is City-relegation fodder type of stuff. Should have been at least 5-0, Kane, Alli and Son has missed 5 huge chances.

Glad Chelsea finally didn´t escape a loss like they did against us and Man U. They have been thoroughly found out tonight. Jorginho is average, Morata is absolute **** and when Hazard don´t perform they´re truly fecked. Very impressive by Spurs on the other hand.

Agreed. Spurs are miles ahead of Chelsea.

Depressing thing is that they've managed their best ever start to a PL season when they're not even playing well / missing key players. Pochettino has turned them into a results machine, at least as far as the league is concerned.

It'd be depressing for them with their best start ever their still only potentially 3 points ahead of us by the end of the weekend.

They are starting to roll though.

Wouldn't get upset about other fans saying we bottled it or the term spursy. It means we came close but didn't get the trophy. Which none of us can deny or be happy about. We need to do better, but it's better than not coming close like the majority of teams.

Not upset.

Just funny when it's coming from actual proven legends.

I don't mind if they want to bury their heads in the sand and think we'll fall away.

I hate to break it to them but with our non existent pre-season we are just getting into the swing of it.

Should see us through nicely to the end IMO.

Unfortunately City look too motivated to foresee any major lapses.
Pep doesn't rest on his laurels and won't allow any dips in form.

That's the thing. We've been so far off our best this season that I think fans of Chelsea, Liverpool, etc just assumed we were on the downward spiral and were no longer a threat. In reality they should've been worried. There was no way we'd play that badly over the course of an entire season, yet we were still racking up record points.

If we can use the Chelsea game as a jumping off point and find some real form we've got as good a chance of finishing 2nd as anyone. Sadly can't see us catching City, though.

This Spurs team - out of the CL - will be formidable.

They are right back in with a shout of the title...if not the title, R.U. spot will be theirs

But we were told it was a 2 horse race?

Every time I see Harry Kane play football he always just looks so unnatural. It's astounding he's as good as he is.

Spurs "title winners???" Not in a million years ....top 6 yes but the prem title? 57 years and counting

That draw at Chelsea not looking as good anymore, Spurs battered them today.

Imagine how boss we would be with Harry Kane up top. Wasn't for that lad I honestly dont think Spurs would be where they are today. Having a 25-30 goal a season forward has massively helped Poch whilst he has built his side well

Comments like this - I just dont get - I mean thats like saying, if spurs didnt have Hugo, Aurier, Foyth, Toby, Davies, Dier, Sissoko, Dele, Son, Eriksen and Kane then they wouldnt have won the game...

Isnt that the point? to build a strong side with excellent players and try to fill it with world class players?

Fuck me.

It was like watching a different sport going from the United game to the Spurs game.
Thing that stood out more than anything was the work rate. We could learn a thing from Spurs’ transfer strategy too. They don’t have any passengers, they don’t sign players who can’t run, even the players who don’t possess the greatest ability will run all day long. And the ones that do will still run all day long.
You cannot underestimate hard work and intensity and yesterday was embarrassing watching the contrast between United and Spurs.

One of the criticisms of Poch is his record against the other big clubs. Hammered us and Chelsea so far this season. Lost narrowly to City and Liverpool. Hopefully for his admirers, of which I am one, this is the season he gets this particular monkey off his back.
I am an admirer also, but not sure if beating us at the moment is classed as beating a big team.

Imo pound for pound the manager doing the best job in the league.

Agree, with Eddie Howe probably second. I think we all know who is at the bottom

Aye wasn’t he also the first to smash Peps City in the first year when they looked good and the same with Contes Chelsea when they had that good season.

Spurs would have a serious chance of winning the league in any other season with the start they've made.

Too bad for everyone that Man. City are just on another planet atm.

Demanding he wins league titles with his budget is a little harsh I feel. Let's see what he does in the cups this season.

I think this has become one of those things which becomes repeated so often that it just becomes an accepted truth.

So really, other than Arsenal, the other teams (and managers) are much of a muchness when it comes to results against the other clubs in this mini league. Obviously gone up to 46 points now with the result against Chelsea so 3 points behind City and Liverpool (out of a possible 96) and even if Man Utd won both the games to get to 32 like everyone else, would be 2 points behind Man Utd and 5 ahead of Chelsea.
I don't think there is any real difference in those results for any of the clubs.
That’s really interesting and tbf as I was posting I thought, “I haven’t actually checked the stats on this”. But as you say, it’s an oft-repeated line. I guess the people that don’t like him have used it as a stick to beat him often enough that it’s just become the accepted wisdom.

Ladies and gentlemen, let's do anything we can to get Pochettino.
Outside of kidnapping, it's not going to happen.

kidnapping it is then!

They have it in their locker to just ambush teams. I remember Guardiola had a great start at City but went to WHL and got completely overpowered from minute one. When Spurs win big games they are more often than not very emphatic.

And we have been without Kane in the past for long periods of time and we have done better without him and it is madness when other fans come out with that Shit.
