And we don't care.No one likes us.
And we don't care.No one likes us.
Does anyone really care wtf Lester think of us ? It's Lester City ffs.
Go on Facebook or BBC sport and look at the messages, not only are the majority of posters complete wankers, they are also complete tools as well as being on the lower end of the educational ladder.
This explains high ratings on talksport.
In real life, generally, football fans are not like this, or not the ones I have met. Simply because if they were you wouldn't talk to them ever again.
OK you get some in work, but unless you work in prison or a school you are not going to get that amount of fuckwits.
It's because we spent about 30 years lording it up about how great were were when we were shit for about 20 of them, haven't won a title since 61 and still try to look down on teams like Chelsea.
I work with a gooner who would rather we win over Liverpool. I made him repeat himself when the scouser turned up. I said, “see this is how much everyone hates you”.
I told the gooner that there is no way I’d rather Arsenal win the league over Liverpool but just goes to show how much some people hate liverpool.
And your argument is?
That is all very fair, but even so that Leicester forum does seem to be an especially bitter and petty place. Most of those fans should be still waking up every morning and whistling a jolly dity and smiling at strangers because they got to see their team win the effing league.I think this should actually read 'most internet-forum-using fans hate us'.
Although it precedes its rise, the internet forum has similarities to social media - it caters to a particular type.
In any group, you'll have those who are more vocal than others. And generally, you'll find more extreme views within the vocal subgroup than in the non-vocal.
The type that will post on an internet forum will likely be those who are more vocal. And because the nature of an internet forum conversation is one of active participation - one has to want actively to contribute rather than be pulled passively into a conversation - this means that those who post on internet forums will be those who have something they want to express, so even more vocal.
Within a grouping, you will find those with more extreme views tend to be more vocal. So in the vocal subgroup of any group, you will find more extreme views than in the non-vocal subgroup.
How does that translate to an internet forum? Well, let's take SC. This site has over 26,000 members. But of those, only a very small fraction post on a regular basis. They're the vocal subgroup of SC members, who are themselves a subgroup of the Spurs fanbase.
And as they're more likely to be the vocal subgroup, they will have a higher proportion of those with extreme views. You'll find more extreme views, like "hating" another team for example, in an internet forum than in a wider sample of the overall Spurs fanbase. That's not to say that every regular poster on SC (or any other forum) is part of the extreme subgroup, but that because vocal subgroups contain a higher proportion of extreme view holders, the extreme view is stronger there than in a more balanced sampling.
And I would imagine that is precisely the case in every other internet forum, be that a specific club forum like SC, or a general forum like the BBC's HYS (some REAL crazies on there!). An internet forum only provides a snapshot of a fanbase, and a not very complete one at that, so the perception that we're hated I think only applies to those who frequent internet forums. I've been to games where after the match I've had conversations with rival fans who've been complimentary of us and even admitted to liking us.
Add to that various cognitive biases and it can lead us to think that we're viewed in a particular way by all, rather than just a sampling.
The picture we get from internet forums isn't an accurate picture of rival fans think of us - it's only a flavour of how one subgroup of fan views us.

Think I'd rather arsenal tbh. Just about.
They've won it 3 times so it's not a first for them (PL era)
I literally cannot stand "fans" of clubs from the north of England that come from the south east and wouldn't even know how to get to a match, let alone actually turn up.
Liverpool fans are arrogant tossers that have ridden their 70's and 80's glory days for 30 years. 1 CL and a few domestic cups in that time barely puts them above us and us consistently finishing above them for the best part of 10 years says it all.
What argument? Someone said they didn't understand the hatred for us. I explained, from what I've garnered from those fans, was the reason.
Enmity from the title season - Harry Kane’s Pride of lions picture. Actually that Kane was on loan there and shite, feeling that they could have had him and Vardy as a dream team. League cup final defeat. And generally that we’re big-time London poofters.I've asked this before but why do they hate us (if there is one reason?
:I've asked this before but why do they hate us (if there is one reason?
Honestly never understood the hatred towards us from clubs outside of the other top 6. Surely as a neutral, an organically grown club winning the league over the financially doped expected winners is better? They all willed Leicester to do it, but not us. Don't get it.
Exactly! I'm a Spurs fan because my dad started supporting us because of Billy Nic (from my hometown).I've never understood this. Yes you get glory fans, but don't you want our fanbase to grow and be diverse in terms of area of the country?
I am a southerner, but now live up north. I'm trying to get my young sons to be Spurs fans, even took them to wembley last week, take them to away games in the north when we can get tickets. They are both Northern and always will be because of where they were born. But if they become true Spurs fans, hopefully their kids will be in later life.
There is nothing wrong with growing our fanbase around the country, and just because we can't get to the matches every week doesn't mean that we don't support the team as much as fans from the area who can
I think those are exactly the reasons we're 'hated'. Other supporters just don't understand how we got here and therefore it offends them as we 'don't belong'. But at the same time we're too vig a club historically to be a fairytale like Leicester.
It's utterly stupid, but that's modern football fans for you.
It’s more than that. There’s a natural disdain for London from most parts of the country, particularly the Midlands and North. In a way we’re the most Londony of clubs. If Arsenal are the Royal family, old money and stuck up, and Chelsea are Russian oligarchs, aloof and in another world, we’re like loud-suited London property developers, full of bullshit and upselling a two-bedroomed flat for £500k.I think those are exactly the reasons we're 'hated'. Other supporters just don't understand how we got here and therefore it offends them as we 'don't belong'. But at the same time we're too vig a club historically to be a fairytale like Leicester.
