Wrote a pretty stupid article about him in which he made all kinds of unnecessarily harsh and unfounded comments about him i.e. that "if it wasn't for football he'd probably be a drug dealer or in prison like most scousers" or something along those lines. But in the end the straw that broke the camels back was that he said he looked a bit like a gorilla. It then turns out Barkley's dad is black so it got treated as a racist thing and that was that.

For what it's worth, I genuinely don't think he would've said it if he'd known Barkley was mixed race, so it does seem like an unfortunate mistake (did anyone know Barkley was mixed race until this incident?). However, in the context of the rest of the article and the fact that he's a **** of the highest order anyway, I don't think many people are shedding tears over his sacking/forced resignation.
