They've lost once in five games
Makes sense now. He bet on us to loseProbably be Spurs' fault somehow.
Badum tish! That's three draws for Arsenal this season and all of them in London derbies. Last season they won all three of those games. However, while they have dropped six points in those games they won two games they lost against last season in Everton and City. They are up and down and basically have no right to be shouting about who they should and should not beat.Arsemania
- So we drew to these guys, did we?
- Yes we did and my god it was an embarrassing result against a ****e small side. We also drew with Fulham, which wasn't great either.
Also, traditionally it's harder to play promoted teams in Aug/Sep, when the sun's shining, the players and fans have belief they can survive, as opposed to Dec/Jan when the players are depressed, the realisation has set in that they are gonna struggle for the next win, and their squad is knackered.
Does the evidence back that up? Genuinely curious as to what promoted sides PPG are in Aug/Sep as opposed to Dec/Jan
Not sure, but the grind of the PL season defo wears the smaller teams down.
I have the exact same feeling.
Meeting the promoted teams in the first 5 fixtures, especially away from home is much much harder than when you reach late autumn and their early tenacity and optimism has faded.
I dunno man, having teams facing relegation in April/May, when they're fighting for their lives (and pay cuts) is by far hardest.
Yeah, maybe although sometimes the rut's so bad by then they can't get out. Depends on new manager bounces and other factors too.
If you can't beat 'em copium...Copium and pundits are sheep they copy and repeat everything if it gets engagement for clicks
I really think the media do us no favors, but we are London club, a rich club, and there are other issues that make the media focus on us - like Levy being in charge.
Spurs fans who think we are winning the league - zero. Comments that Spurs fans think we are winning the league - legion. Why? Because the media goes on about it all the time.
I suppose the reason we are held in contempt by everyone is
1) Every team holds every team in contempt, it just seems like they all hate us more
2) Teams above us don’t want us to be established at the top, teams below us don’t want us to leave their abyss of medocrity.
3) Newcastle, Brighton and Villa dont get the (2) hate yet, so I am not sure why there is (1)
Just theorycrafting. I think it’s odd, but what is indisputable is everyone has an opinion about Spurs. I don’t have much of an opinion about Villa (E.g.(
Pure COYS Joy!
I think the vid is aimed at teen boys.Honestly why all the irritating sound effects?
Red ShiteFrom the Everton posts: "Hopefully above RS anyway". What is RS? is that Arsenal ?
Ouch! Well, that is oddly specific but I'm from Aberdare and that is a 15 minute drive from Merthyr. In South Wales valley terms, that is a continent. Also, yeah, Merthyr folks are weird and a bit inbred...possibly (nb. No evidence but a thriving banjo band)Most Liverpool fans are tourists from obscure back waters across the globe, such as Merthyr Tydfil and Cork, where the gene pool is notoriously shallow..

There's a poll at the top of the match thread, 79% think Palace will lose, 16% draw, 5% Palace win.
- Ange's style of football ( persistent attack, continual off ball movement, creative midfield) vs Roy ball ( sit deep, sit back, wait for the onslaught , no press, wait for lucky break, 1 shot at goal that’s the 1st half yawn)
- The game will start 0-0 and Roy will pick a team that gives us a chance of it ending the same way
- Bet we don't look 2 days fresher
- the best we as the paying fans can hope for is three 0-0 draws at home on the spin. Oh joy of joys
- I can see Spuz wasting a load of chances and us nabbing two
2 - 1 Palace innit- Our best bet is for Spurs to do a Spursey. Top of the league, can go 5 points clear...time for them to implode
- Probably the most anticipated loss thus far this season. Combine that with Palace haven't had an unexpected win in ages. Palace 1 Tottenham 0
- Tottenham fans are saying that Selhurst Park under the lights is a tough place to go.
It is and after the mauling by Newcastle and the bollocking that will have followed, I don't think we'll be turned over.
I'm hoping for a cheeky 1-0 but a draw wouldn't be a bad result.
The replay against Liverpool will start 1-0 to them.dont all games start 0-0 ?
Got to hope that the 80 minutes played by Maddison, Son, Richarlison and the full match for Romero and Kulusevski somehow impacts negatively upon their fitness, preparation time and sharpness for Friday. Realistically it's our only chance, especially if we start with Eduoard and Mateta, because we would need an early goal.
Given the Einstein's definition of madness, neither Lerma or Mateta should start on Friday.
The back 5 pick themselves.
I know its a pipe dream but I'd start with this.
Doucoure/Hughes
Franca
JRS-Eduard-Ayew
We can only dream of a draw in this one.
If there is no Olise or Shlupp, we really have nothing to take the pressure off our backs.
I predict pain.
1-1 Our new guys and the walking wounded no longer wounded I am hoping that we will shock Spuds and we will get the draw we need for our hearts and mentality.
We'll be reliant on Ayew in attack and he will be marked out of the game if they've got any sense. If he's forced outside he has no options as there's not usually anyone in the box, plus he's not a great crosser of the ball anyway.
Our goalscoring problem in a nutshell.
It's gonna be tough
We have no supply to our 'supposed' strikers.
Getting a few crosses over might help but Mateta can't head a ball to save his life.
We can't score so we can't win. Simple.
When Eze and Olise return we should be OK
take your hand off for a point.
Regret it may well be another Newcastle score due to under strength team.
COYP !
I am going for 1-1. Our players will be pumped for a Friday night at Selhurst. Those back in the team shake off the rust of the Newcastle game. Roy and Ray work on tactics. Franca and jes both feeling more involved after their cameos. So long as we do not skip early I think we can cause spurs problems. Injury worries are lessening
Well we've had two days extra rest than Spurs and they also have a few key injury worries. It depends on the team Roy plays.
Ideally I'd like to see Ahamada in for Hughes, Rak Sakyi starting on the right and Ayew on the left. Who knows what Roy will do though.
2-1 to Spurs.
For those predicting a Palace win, exactly who do you think will score, and who will provide the assist?
Until Eze and / or Olise are back we have little to offer.
I hope Roy gives Franca a start - if he runs out of steam he can take him off.
We could do with Schlupp for experience. Im afraid Hughes was seriously wanting last week and he be the same against a very good Spurs team.
I also fear for how Ward and Mitchell will do against their attack.
All in all it looks a little bleak!!
They're still comfortably beating teams that we're struggling to beat. Unfortunately I'm picking a fairly comfortable win for them. They've literally got nothing to worry about on defence, so can focus on their attacking patterns and Son will slaughter us.
Hope I'm wrong, but picking 3-1 Spurs. Reckon we'll nick a goal from a corner or something.
Another vote for 3-1 Spurs here. I can't see us getting anything from this game. On the plus side though, Eze and Olise will be back soon, Franca will enter the fray, so attack wise, things are looking up!
0-3.
We have no creative players available.
Son must think it’s Christmas every time he plays against us.
But wait! What am I saying? 3-0 to Palace just like a couple of seasons ago when they had that Portuguese manager. Ayew will net a hat-trick, as he threatens to every week.
Absolutely nothing creative going forward on the ball and 2 strikers who can't even be bothered off the ball, I honestly think Tottenham could rest a player, play with 10 men and still beat us comfortably.
Can't see them not scoring but I've got the feeling we'll sneak a 1-1. (Fingers well and truly crossed!)
I hope we at least try and play some football. After a decade up here my tolerance for watching other sides control the game at Selhurst while we sit back and wait for them to pick holes in us is drained. We should be a proud club that doesn't let these sides just make themselves comfortable on our pitch
Anyway, 2-0 Spurs...
Played crap last game and a 3-0 defeat is the rational expectation...unless you're Palace: 2-1 win to the Eagles.
Alas Roy's previous history in games against Spurs and the like has us meekly defending, waiting for them to take the game to us, hoping for some miserly scraps that may or may not fall our way. Roy doesn't change, it's what he does. I saw the highlights of their game against Fulham, they press and get the ball forward sharpish, not to dissimilar to Newcastle. Our full backs will have a torrid time of it again I suspect.
