Going by the logic of some fans, and not sure anyone's realised yet, but for the rest of the season, we only need to play teams below us... ;-) That means the title's as good as done.

I'm joking.

But could we?

TBF our fixture list has been good to us but that's not our fault or takes anything away from our performances and unlike before we have been winning the games we never normally win

If in 6 games time we are still top of the league, then no can say shit and deserved to be taken seriously as title challengers

As a spurs fan the next 6 fixtures are brutal:
Chelsea (H) - don't need to explain
Wolves (A) - Hate going there
Aston Villa (H) - This imo the easiest fixture in this group
Man City (A) - Historically we are good there BUT we have won by parking the bus lately
West Ham (H) - No explanation necessary
Newcastle (H) - Tough fixture

Its not our fault that we are playing these teams in this group but I don't care if someone says we had a fixture list, so what?

We have had easy fixture before and never been this good

I think the only thing we can do, for the sake of Sporting Integrity is ask the Prem to start the season over and ask for our first 10 games to be against Clubs who were in the top 11 last season. Or we ask to play Man City 4 times, Arsenal twice Liverpool twice (with 2 replays).

The good thing is 4 are at home and only 2 away. Not a guarantee, of course, but always confident when at home, away you just never know.

  • Have a feeling Woy has lumped on a palace win tonight.
    I'm going for 3-1
  • Palace to beat Spurs? Seriously.
Just a feeling spurs will drop a bollock this evening.
  • So do I, had a little flutter and it is little on spurs helping them out with an outbreak of spursyness.
  • Spurs keeper is decent
  • Fuck sake, not one shot in 45 mins proper Spursey
  • Fuck off Spurs
  • Bollocks
  • Skanky Spuds
  • They shouldn’t win the league, but there’s no doubting they’re a different animal under postocoglou. they should get top 4 easily
  • Spurs control games very well so once they go a goal up the poorer teams find it hard!
  • ****s haven't had a shot at goal and load one nil. That's Spursy
  • Game over
  • They've won the fucking league again
  • Very good, hope we fight Spurs for the title this season rather than any of the red shite.
  • Lot of blues were turning their noses up at Maddison links to us , egg on face for these guys.
  • It’s a bit shit having this lot as our title rivals.
You’ve got spurs, dippers and arses.
β€œIf we don’t win it” it’ll be like choosing between Jimmy Saville, Rolf Harris and Gary Glitter
  • I'm amazed we weren't in for Maddison given we were losing Gundo
  • The way they play if they don't panic or get to giddy they do have chance to go into the last 6/8 games in the title race..
It's posto he bring the calmness plus he had won a league title as a manager
  • tottenham might be a real contender this season, they have a favorable schedule til april
  • We should have signed him he's quality and would be feeding Haaland more often. What was he, 45 million?
  • If Ange tries this "game management" against us we're gonna fuck him.
  • Handball that
  • Gonna be disallowed because it's Spurs
  • Even if it brushed his arm it’s come off his chest first and rebounded into his arm… it would never be given in regular play so surely can’t be a reason to disallow a goal
  • Big Ange looks like he could run my local chippy
  • Not in the slightest bit concerned by them. No chance it will last. They’ll do well if they finish top 4
  • Doing well Spurs. Son back to his best
  • Never thought Spurs would be leading the league after 10 games
  • Spurs are getting a dream run at the moment, let's see what next spring brings
  • Big Ange tactics of score and park the bus/Time waste working so far.
  • They are such a bore to watch once they have a lead

Another one with this nonsense. It hit his chest first so can't be handball? It's like they make up rules now. If it hits the attacking players arm in the build up to a goal it's ruled out (should be anyway). It's funny because you know if it is the other way around they would say it's handball and should not be given. So much gaslighting from opposition fans you can only laugh at it really.

I've always found this thread weird but entertaining :D

People post laughable comments from fans of other clubs. SC posts responses and rebuttals which the authors of said posts will never read, to an audience that needs no convincing and all the while, in threads all over the shop, SC'ers are equally ridiculous, sour and hateful about other clubs. Who's fans probably trawl those comments over to their sites and make responses which in turn the good residents of SC will never read.

For anyone studying for a degree in the psychology of football fans, tribalism or sociology, this is all required reading :D

It's all part of any football fans DNA.

Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance

Rinse and repeat.

  • They play the most entertaining football in the league along with Lfc after selling their club icon. Mik’s 5 year Stalinist plan has so far failed to deliver; so they should be happy that they are mimicking his greatest success without the budget and time required for a moon landing like Arteta has had. As an Arsenal fan i root against Sp.rs every match, yet as a lover of football i look forward to their football. Artetaball in comparison despite massive time and money looks in comparison like walking in in on a fat old couple shagging. After you see it, you wish you didn’t. No joke this season back to falling asleep in matches like his first 2 and a half years
  • Artetaball is canned tuna fish on the eyes while Ange's style of football filet mignon
  • They've had a great start but have yet to be properly tested.
  • Ange has killed it, and him and Emery are proving this multiyear costly project to train a neophyte manager has been a disaster
  • Kimchi Messi and Meatball Bale doing bits tonight, shame as both the original Bale and this version are Arsenal fans
  • Got a chance to look at Romero tonight.
All, I can say is...
  • He was outstanding, to be honest. Him and that Dutch kid look a perfect pairing.
It’s no wonder he was an ever present in a World Cup winning team.
****ing gutted they got him so cheap
  • Ridiculous how Sp**s stumbled upon Ange. The majority of their fanbase didn’t even want in the summer smh
  • I swear i would give the filth Arteta, Kai, and 50 million pound of Stan’s money to give us Ange?
  • On just one condition, they must promise to never give either of them back
  • 100% πŸ˜‚ I won’t even hide it and that’s not even me jumping on this hype train. You can go back to early last year when I wanted Ange to replace him. I’m a massive fan of the style of football he gets his teams to play and I think he’d be more in the AW type of mould for us, both on and off the pitch imo. Having said that I think at this current time the club have heavily backed Arteta so there’s no point at this stage. Better to just see how everything pans out.
Funnily, I did predict that he’d end up at Sp**s. Had a feeling that Levy would go for him:
  • VDV is a better defender than Romero already IMO. Able to play both defensive and play restarting roles at the back
  • VDV the new VVD? He looks class
  • Has there ever been a club more overrated over their first 10 games than this lot?
If there is, I've probably missed them.
They drew at Brentford who looked the likelier to win at the time. Beat a hapless & profligate United (who actually should've won). Beat 3 relegation candidates on the spin (Bournemouth, Burnley & Sheffield United) with the latter needing 2 injury time goals to be defeated.
Let off the hook by us after being made to look ordinary for most of the match.
Needed PGMOL incompetence to beat Liverpool (who would've won had they had 10 men on the pitch, let alone 11).
Barely got past Luton & Palace.
Ironically enough their match against Fulham was their only comprehensive performance.
  • After the first 10 games of the season: β—Ž Arsenal 2003/04: 24 points, 0 defeats β—‰ Spurs 2023/24: 26 points, 0 defeats Tottenham are ahead of the Invincibles pace.
  • Our team last season had one more point than this Sp**s side, played better football too (though they are playing better than us right now admittedly) we didn't win another unbeaten title as it AIN'T easy.

Let's see if they are unbeaten champions at season's end...or do a Double 2 years before...or FA cup wins either side of it...or reach a Champions League final a few years after it either.

Sp**s have been good, but comparing them in anyway to the Arsenal team of that era is very disrespectful...THAT Arsenal compares to the United/Liverpool/City at their best, not a Sp**s team that just finished 8th ffs!
    Disrespectful is putting it mildly!!
Nothing Sp**s can conjure up in their entire history merits mentioning in the same breath as THAT Arsenal.
  • Ange was not wanted by Sp**s fans. He lost his top striker (and arguably Sp**s best player of all time) Few expected him to last long given they played United, us and Liverpool in their first 7 games. Starting away to Brentford - we know how difficult that is. That's 4 hard games. Brentford away, United at home. That could have been a 0 pointer.
The easy run came about because they played three promoted sides in Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United, then Bournemouth. That's 4 'easy' games out of 10
I'm not sure I'd describe a team that finished 8th playing teams that finished 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 9th, 10th and 11th (50% of games v top half teams) as easy.
If anything I'm putting the pressure on them. You've done this it's on you now to sustain it. Saying theyve had it easy, na. That gives them an opt out for when they do lose. No mercy. Let the fall hurt them.
  • This all reads very much like us last season. The main difference being that sp*rs are ****.
  • Personally thought Ange would be gone by Christmas but complete opposite has happened. I don't fear them winning the league or anything but they're serious contenders for CL places now which shouldn't have been possible. Thank **** Kane is gone or a title could've been a possibility.
  • It also pisses me off that he can walk in there and get a terrible squad performing like that. It took us a lot of wasted years and loads of personnel changes to get to that
  • Great start, fair play. It will all fall apart soon though.
β€œFall apart” in terms of top of the table, otherwise a solid season looks on the cards.
  • Tbf even though I am an Angesexual, I don’t think the Sp**s squad was as poor as it is often made out. Conte just did a terrible, terrible job with them last yr
  • imagine Kane scoring his 30-40 goals (in an ange team you would expect this) on top of an in form Son who looks the goods this season. That number of goals would have had them pretty well placed
This might be the most spursy thing of all, Kaneβ€˜a timing to leave
  • Did say Maddison over Havertz all summer btw but certain posters (@drippin) said it was a stupid idea
  • I'd still only have taken Maddison from them
  • Find it incredibly stupid how people here are trying their hardest to laugh at them when they sit at 26 points after 10 games. It’s extraordinary really.
  • Romero is a great defender, if not so good on the ball, Van de Ven looks class on and off the ball. Pedro Porro is good, whilst I rate Destiny Udogie who is only 19 or 20 and looks very comfortable already (a bit like saliba on entering the PL). They have Bissouma who we know is very good, Sarr who is also very young, talented with a massive engine. And their most talented midifielder in Bentancur is just coming back. I think up front they probably need upgrades, Kulu and Richarlison could probably be upgraded on, in adddition to getting another striker. Like us in the past, they drop off considerably outside their first 11

But could we?

The transfer window in January will be an interesting one.

Only Dier and Lloris (i think) of players within the squad have not had any playing time, so I think Ange will already be looking for another CB, and possibly another DM?

My worry would be injury and suspensions, but playing less games certainly adds to recovery time, for the odd knocks that get picked up.

Top four would be an unbelievable first season for Ange and this young team.

Remember that he said from day one that he couldn't fix all the issued as he saw it in a single transfer window. I would think that Lange is already working on this?

Nice little exchange I had with a Gooner mate of mine who popped out of the woodwork this morning….

View attachment 133819
Sums them all up that.

My cousin is the same.

He starts the mocking out of nowhere, then when you throw it back and say something like you did that highlights their weaknesses and failures they throw out the fishing rod.

For example when Arsenal called the game off last year, he had the nerve to send me a message that "your beating is on hold".

When I just replied with "every gunner is a runner" he responded with "rent-free always".

Errrr no. Thats not how that works.
