  • Mate.
  • Need to defend much better but at least the RW is finally looking threatening.
  • Shame that it means the LW position now is devoid of threat.
  • Some opportunities on the counter attack hopefully? A repeat of the Villa game would be nice.
  • I wonder how many more players will be injured again mate
  • We learnt nothing from tonights game.
This years system was somewhat effective against a terrible Wigan side, apart from awful composure in front of goal.
But I think we will look far too open against a decent side.
We could have really done with Casemiro being at least fit enough to get some minutes tonight to be in with a chance of playing against spurs.
As mentioned above, I think we need to hope for a Villa-esque suicidal high line for us to take advantage of.
But think we will get dominated in midfield
  • Hoping we get some guys return from injury? Any news on Shaw? Rashford needs Shaw out there to get anywhere close to his best.

    Onana
    Wan Bissaka Varane Evans Dalot
    Mainoo Eriksen
    Garnacho Bruno Rashford
    Hojlund
Shaw, Martinez and Casemiro come in for Wan Bissaka, Eriksen and Evans when they're fit but that's the best side we have
  • Agree with your best 11 when everyone is fit… but also in the shape that you propose too…
Doesn’t matter if it’s Shaw or Dalot… if it’s that weird hybrid midfield role, Rashford will continue to look crap. He 100% needs an overlapping FB to be effective.
  • Spurs’ high line gives us a chance.
  • Lads, it’s United.
  • I'd rather not
  • Back to losing ways I’m afraid.
  • Is Maddison back for them yet? If he is, I think we lose this.
If he isn't, I think we lose this, just not as lossy.
  • Same team we put out tonight and yes, that includes McTominay.
Hopefully, we'll have a stronger bench, though.
I think players like Amad and Eriksen can make a difference from the bench. Maybe we'll have a few more back from injury/ilness, too.
  • We’re back so we lose this
  • Hojlund to begin his second goal drought.
  • Front three Garnacho Hojlund and Rashford is a must because Spurs play high line.
  • Big game for the season this. As it stands our chances if making top 4 are slim enough , lose this and it is extremely hard to see us make top 4. Spurs are missing quite a few as well, no excuses if we fail to turn up here.
  • Lads, it's Spurs.
  • Jim will see first hand just how shit we are. Spurs should win.
  • Spurs will walk this and a game closer to an ETH sacking …..which will change absolutely nothing.
  • Mate, it's Tottenham.
I strangely feel confident going into this one. They're missing Son, Sarr etc. and wouldn't be sitting back. If anything gives our team a chance, it's an attacking team at OT which doesn't have the best defence.
  • We are tailor-made for Tottenham. They are going to look like Cristiano-era Madrid on the break. Even Wigan had great chances in transition.
  • I fear another abject performance and a loss here. Spurs are just too good for us at the minute. That's terrifying.
  • Of course we have a chance. Any home team should have a chance. But we've already lost at home to Bournemouth and Palace and Spurs are a good team this season.
  • We have a chance against Spurs, but our front line need to find their shooting boots. It's baffling, Rashford and Hojund have struggled to find any kind of form on goal this season. Garnacho has been a bit better, but not by much.
We have a "where will the goals come from?" problem that has yet to be resolved and until it's resolved we're susceptible to losing to anyone, especially decent clubs like Spurs.
  • Spurs essentially being a better version of Bielsa's Leeds should give us a chance here.
  • We all know Dragustin will give the game of his life against us, right ?
  • If you want to play a drinking game that you might not survive: take a shot of a spirit for every time the camera pans to Jim grimacing.
  • Either a draw or a loss this one. Well start with McT in mid which would mean Spurs already have an upper hand in the midfield. Add Rashfords inability to run at all this season I dont see how we will exploit the spaces they leave
  • As ever, we'll play well enough but not create enough, heroically contrive to miss what we do create, concede with our first attack, panic chasing the game, remove a performing Mainoo for McTominay, boo the team off and win seven nil.
Though one of those may be a miscalculation.
  • 'as ever, we'll play well enough'. Really, when did we last play well? Our standards are so low. A few bits of possession play and the odd good move seem to be the standard now. We have been dire nearly all season. A key part of playing well is also not being constantly carved open and creating some good chances.
  • Didn't realize Son was missing for this?
That's like us missing...well, no, we don't have any players as good as him, so
  • No Son? Feck yea get in we have a chance.
1-0 United with Hojlund breaking his PL duck.
  • If Van De Ven is back we lose this, if they line up with Emerson and Dragusin as their CB pairing then we have a chance, our attackers other than Garnacho are absolutely pathetic but Spurs do concede a lot of chances.
  • We should have won this game earlier in the season when we had the blatant handball knocked back and we were the better team.
Two one victory for us is my prediction.
  • Yes i remember the game, we had good control and chances. We dint take them and then the awful handball not given.
They scored and we just capitulated. Hopefully we can take our chances now.

Probably the most complimentary I've seen the oppo fans being of our players

That Redcafe thread was genuinely funny in parts. (And balanced) Don’t think anyone should tell them that Cuti is back in full training as it will finish them off 😂

I used to find it really hard to get on with my Uncle for the longest time, he wasn't really a football fan and we didn't have anything in common, once I was a complete dick to him, he had wound me up and I snapped he didn't deserve it I was just in a shit mood.
2 weeks later I get a parcel in the post, it was this.

Their fans have always had a deeply weird hating attitude towards Spurs. The Gallagher brothers (Oasis of course, great band but utter tools as people) have repeatedly said in interviews how much they utterly despise and hate Spurs. Given their team were perennial failures until the oil money its a bit rich frankly.

Just very strange. As a North West based Spurs fan I've found United, Liverpool and Everton fans to be far more complimentary /reasonable when talking to me about us. Particularly United fans in general - and older United fans the most of all, who respect our style of play and remember when we actually won the league and European trophies. Liverpool were similar until we started to challenge for top 4 and they could then move on to rant about VAR decisions ad nauseum.......
Youre just a shit Chas n Dave..

  • They've got to be the most pointless club to ever exist, right? Even 20 or so years ago when we were languishing and Spurs fans were giving me shit I could come back that we'd at least won the league in the past half century.
I'm not sure this guy can count. 20 or so years ago we also would have won a league title within the past half century

  • That Sp**s bench 😂
  • I’m ready for the Werner show. Such a smart pick up
  • VDV back. Damn.
  • Outstanding CB
  • Can’t believe I’m cheering on United today.
  • United by a few here btw.
  • As long as it’s an enjoyable game. Results of these two clubs don’t really impact us. (he's deadly serious too )
  • Its just nice to see them drop points regardless, which is guaranteed for at least one of them
  • If Utd don't do anything against this Sp**s line up then they have no hope.

  • Haalaaaaaaand!
  • Haaland 1-0
  • That defending
  • Get in, United will get a few here.
  • Didn't know Kulusevski was injured. Awful timing with Son out
  • ****s sake pigeon boy scores
  • He cant stop scoring.
  • Sp**s have a crazy list of absentees here.
  • Must be nice having a Brazilian 9 who can score.
  • Ange has turned Richarlison into a player while Mik has turned Martinelli into a plodder
  • Ange is another manager better than the reality show trollop
  • The cringe mocking of Richarlison can stop now. He’s clearly levels above our main striker, as reflected also in the Brazil NT
  • Why? He’s been genuinely embarrassing in a Sp**s shirt before this purple patch, so much so that he was made available for a January transfer before getting into form :cautious:
  • Richarlison has been crap since he joined Sp**s btw and has never in his life had a season nearly as good as Nelli's last year. (humour)
  • He was quality at Everton, does well for Brazil, I think he’s a good player. You surprised he struggled when Conte was his manager? Came back from an operation too didn’t he? Looks better.
  • Their whole team has been embarrassing up until this season, playing under negative dinosaur managers. We can stop pretending they’re a joke now tho, or it might come back and bite really ****ing hard

  • That makeshift midfield desperately needs Johnson to stop ruining attacks. If not they're basically Arsenal, only hoping to score from set pieces
  • Does Tottenham only look dangerous during corners?
  • They’re missing Sonaldo, Kulusevski, Maddison and Bissouma tbf.
  • Rashfordddd
  • Awful from Romero there. G+A for Haaland
  • This Dragon fella should have no issue getting a starting spot.
  • Nothing makes the start of a week better than a Sp**s loss
  • That’s the Chelsea Werner right there
  • Werner is genuinely crap
  • Timo Werner is a mess. Some of these former Chelsea players are definitely money laundering schemes.
  • Haaland yellow. Feel it's over for Sp**s, all they can bring from the bench is Bryan Gil lol
  • Werner is absolutely tragic isn’t he?
  • If Werner scores and these 4 wastemen are all on the score sheet in the same fixture, surely it's a sign of the apocalypse.

  • Utd look all over the place defending set pieces.
  • You're right, but feel Sp**s will need a miracle if they can only score that way.
  • fs 2-2
  • They just watched him walk in
  • Werner assist 🔥
  • What a match. Our matches are so dull
  • Class finish
  • Wasn’t Werner offside for the goal?
  • No excuses for Arteta if he can't get our players firing again. If Ange could do it with Richarlison, then Arteta should even be able to do it with Salt Bae.
  • Werner is such a smart risk signing to take! Could do a Trossard for them!
  • Can't help but wonder how Mik would fair with the injuries/absences both Ten Hag and Ange have had to deal with this season?
  • He would be 10th. Reminds us everyday and the media would make him the unluckiest manager ever
  • When Werner turns out to be one of this windows shrewdest signings come may, I want my accolades for getting that early
  • Everytime I’ve looked up from Tik Tok to watch the game Sp**s have been taking a corner.
  • Didn't realize how much the AFCON has ****ed Sp**s, lost their midfield and main goalscorer, rough stuff.
  • Sp**s left back is class and he is a youngster as well
  • Sp**s have absolutely battered United here, missing quality in the final third tho.
  • Dragon looks like a hard ****, cba.
  • Kind of sad really - there’s better atmosphere on Mars than Old Trafford.
  • This is one of the worst games I've ever seen. Two atrocious teams
  • Bit of a let down that it ends in a draw
  • Arsenal and Sp**s level. :eyess:
  • They are never really level, tbh..
  • Very good weekend for us (well unless you think we can still win the league, then that City late winner is a proper gut punch) it's better for Arsenal fans now when we DON'T play ffs

Their team today would have been;
Raya
White, saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko
Jorginho
Elneny, havertz
Trossard, Jesus, Nelson

with only esr on the bench. Wonder how they’d do away at United
