Good stuff from the Bournemouth fans. I think they have a really bright future. They need some investment (midfield/defense/GK) but I think they look a side that could stay up for years to come.

EDIT: Would love to loan them a player like Harry Winks. I think he'd do well with how they like to play, and I think Howe would be a good guy to learn under.

Wow now this spam thread has moved to TV money.

From Rawk:

About Poch

One season wonder? Can he get them to challenge again when Spurs sell their best players? Can he get them to challenge again playing midweek in the champions league? Still plenty of questions to answer.. Almost similar to Rodgers in a lot of ways, but Poch's tactical nous is better..

All pertinent questions. When you look at their front 6 their only one true outlay was Lamela - saving all this money added with TV and CL money in the summer should allow them to try to bring in a marquee signing or two and get someone to help Kane out because they`re still looking for that player; whether it would mess up their balance remains to be seen.

I think keeping Pocchettino will be a much bigger challenge for them than keeping their players who are mostly still very young and would probably want to give it a try in the CL with Spurs. If they were to lose him - I think Atletico might give Poch some real food for thought - they won`t be able to replace him just like that. Pocchettino is practically a Rodgers/Martinez with defensive nous.

1) Look what he did with Soton...he's a good coach and has elevated 2 teams to a place that folks didnt think they could get to.
2) They have played EL and still had a great league season..even though so many think it hurts your league form

Spurs might not do this again next year, they might not even finish the season well. But he clearly knows what he is doing, in a major way. (y)

Regardless of where they finish this year they are in such a promising position.

Young squad, young managed, new stadium announced, astute chairman who isn't scared of spending. It must be a good time to be a spurs fan and if they stay sensible and trust their manager they have the chance to find themselves there or thereabouts for a while.

Spurs are in a very good place and if they can hold onto their best talents they will be even better next season. It goes to show how things can change in football though as a season ago before Kane broke through they were sort of plodding along trying to get over the aftermath of that window where they spent the Bale money.

It gives me some sort of hope for us in a way.

Spurs finished above us by 2 points last season. They only actually finished above us because of our collapse at the end of the season.

Yet here we stand less than a year later and Spurs are challenging for the league and we are floundering in the bottom half of the table.

While that seems negative, I think there are positives in there too. Pochettino is a good manager. He's got Spurs well drilled. Don't get me wrong, they've got some very good players but the star is the 'team'. For the team to become the star you need time on the training pitch. You also need transfer windows to shape the squad to allow you fully implement your tactical plan. It feels like to me that after some teething problems, Spurs have gone from strength to strength over the last 18 months. They've not bought any superstars but they've added key players that have allowed them to play the way Pochettino desires.

Even if they finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th this season, I just can't see them selling their best players. They are financially sound, have a new stadium on the horizon and probably for the first time do not have to sell, even if Madrid come calling again.
Their squad is young and the manager is young.
Levy must have learned by now that if you are in this position, you have to build on it and not sell the best players in your squad.

There will be interest in the likes of Lloris, Eriksen, Kane and possibly Alli in the summer, but I think he'll rebuff any offers. You also have to factor in he has them all tied down to new long contracts as well so there is little point in the players agitating for a move

Swap our centrebacks and keeper and we'd be where they are this season. Said as much before the season started. :ROFLMAO:

At some point, people are going to start looking at Pochettino's ability to "over achieve" with his teams, and start realising his value. I'm still not sure why we're not hearing rumours of him potentially joining Utd, Arsenal, or Chelsea (okay Arsenal might be a reach, but at least some rumours?). I wonder why there's so little discussion about him.

West Ham and now Spurs could easily manoeuvre us out of the elite unless we and Utd get ourselves in gear. Not talking about short term season results but as a club....London, new big stadiums, good, potentially great managers in situ, good playing staff.

Once the structure's there or close enough to us / Utd, it's an easy sell to make the next generation of top players pick London, seeing that neither Utd nor us can now call on a current winning pedigree.

Winds of change, if we're to stay, we need the manager backed by quality, both on the pitch and off it.

The good thing about wrighty is that he doesn't get bitter about rivalry, you can see it hurts him but hes not an arsehole about it.

You speak to some goon fans and they are so patronizing. My goon supporting friend said earlier in the season."you know where I think you'll finish? ...4th"
He said it in such a patronising way, and he followed it up with"But we will win it".

I absolutely hate West Ham fans so much. They are deluded, arrogant and full of themselves. I mean they think Payet is not only better than Modric, but Zidane in his prime. The crazy thing is they probably really believe that. Them getting into CL will be a nightmare and will never hear the end of it. I'll take city and Utd over Woolich and West Ham any day.

I wish I was making it up!

They didn't even make it through the first EL qualifier...
Finish 4th and they have to play a CL qualifier (or two)... No f'ing chance they'll make the group stage!

He just loves the game. You could see it when he played; it was a joyful thing for him.

Really like him; he's a stand-up guy.

Not sure what you expected him to say? I know a few of our fans thought Arsenal might win it earlier in the season, we were also drawing far too many games.

Not only are they wankers but they'd do our coefficient no good at all, already did their best to cock it up this season..

I actually want them to get 4th now. It would be so funny seeing them brag about cl in their new stadium, then bam. They're out.

It would also mean that cl money would get split 3 ways instead of 4. Win fucking win.

No point being bitter. The new TV deal would have made them attractive regardless of the stadium.

They are renting the fucking shit hole. Perspective buyers or investors are buying what? Payet, Carroll, Noble and a hoe named Brady.

The last thing we need for the co-efficient is West Ham and Leicester in the CL. In that respect we need City to qualify with Guardiola as manager next season.

We aren't exactly veterans either but I think we'd be better equipped.

As opposed to the outstanding jobs the regular Top 4 have been doing recently

Guilty here. They were consistently chugging out results and staying fit (relatively speaking of course) in the early fall while we were still trying to get settled with a different setup and facing more injuries.

Now, one of my classmates and probably the most sensible Goon I know, is insisting we'll overtake Leicester to win it, and doesn't think Arse will get anywhere close to overtaking us.

It was the way he said it. Like little old Tottenham. I didn't /don't think arsenal would win it, they hadn't impressed me up to that point. Now city, that's a different matter, was convinced they'd walk it at that point.

Arsenal fans will be wankers until we finish above them and win a few trophies. I wouldn't expect anything less.
