Yep. His latest gem is that we are only doing so well because the other teams aren't performing to their potential. Nothing to do with AVB at all.

Don`t get too hung up on Durham, he says things simply to get a reaction, he often contradicts himself within the same sentence. Him and Gough do a proper good cop bad cop routine to see if they can get anyone to bite. Spurs fans often do it seems. :)

Durham now likes AVB from the sounds of it after we beat Arsenal and Bale didnt have a worldie:rolleyes:
Not a chance after what i heard yesterday. Closest he has come to being complimentary is saying that if we are still in the top 3 by the end of the season he will take back what he said. But the season isn't over yet so....
I know I shouldn't listen to him but yesterday i wanted to see if he may have changed his tune a bit after Sunday... no chance it seems. He likes to bang on about Arsenal selling their best players but doesn't recognise the effect losing King ,Modric and VDV plus all the injuries has had on us. And I swear any spurs fan he lets on are the deluded idiots that don't really disagree with him. They must vet them and weed out anyone with a good point to make.
I had to turn off.

Yes and that we only beat Arsenal because they sold RVP and didnt replace him but didnt mention the fact we sold Modders, VDV and lost Ledley. Guys a wind-up merchant though I pay little heed to him.

Seriously I do worry about our supporters at times.

Being a Spurs fan we've had the piss taken out of us for years-mind the gap, lasagna, C Gross underground ticket to name a few.

Being a Spurs fan we know how it feels watching crap Nethercott Jose Dominguez Dean Austin Justin Edinburgh Rasiak Doherty ffs.

Being a Spurs fan we've seen our best players being sold Hoddle Waddle Gazza Modric Berbatov and left Campbell destroyed our Sol some fans took to racism (unforgivable) they felt that bad/strong/hard done by/blinded

Being a Spurs fan we've endured that dark tunnel.

Lets not get carried away and act like silly.

don't be a small minded Spurs fan please.

We lost to Wigan at home and what?

Yes I was there. What's your point?

A lot of Liverpool fans seem to think they're a fantastic team that has just had some unlucky results. That Villa result says everything about how wrong that view is, and how up and down their performances have been.

I wasn't talking about Spurs, or saying we're god's gift to football, so I don't really see where our results come into it.

Fair play to them, that is quality! I'd certainly be grumbling too if I had to watch that dire hoofball every week!

Trust me the ones on that thread are a tiny minority. The rest are complete fucking idiots. I actually had one of them telling me the other day that at the Brittannia they play good football it's only away from home they play rugby.

I'd ask for my money back personally.

They've spent a hell of a lot more, and largely on total crap. Their financial results came out today and they're spending 70% of their income on wages, lost £40.5m last year, and their net debt is up to £87m with plans for a new stadium definitely shelved.
Everyone on here who has cited pure jealousy as the reason for their dislike of Spurs is absolutely right, it's tribalism that prevents them turning their ire against their own club and therefore easier to hate a rival team. Mind you, RAWK is a nuthouse forum and they probably do have some level-headed fans in the real world - that Toela fella that comes on here seems decent.

I can only speak for myself, but I would never be jealous of Spurs, or any other team for that matter, because I love my team and think their unique and better than any other for a lot of reasons, so I have nothing to be jealous of as a Liverpool fan. I'm not even jealous of Real Madrid or Barca and their far superior teams to Spurs. I imagine the overwhelming majority of Reds feel the same way.

I imagine you feel the same way about Spurs and aren't jealous of anyone else. I bet even when Liverpool/Arsenal or even Utd/Chelsea were at the very top winning things, challenging for titles, in CL every year and Spurs were struggling lower down, that you weren't jealous then nor were any other Spurs supporters and theres no reason to be.

You support your team for your own personal reasons. Thats the choice you've made, for life. Therefore it makes no sense to be jealous of any other team. You can aspire to be at their level if a team is above you, but not jealous.

Thats just my feelings though, and maybe I'm wrong about other Reds, but I doubt it, espeically the older ones like me who have been very fortunate to see us win everything and do it all. A part of me likes that success is being spread around now as I'd like other people to witness the joy and happiness that comes from seeing the team you love win the biggest trophies.

Secondly, the stadium point you make is completely incorrect mate. I don't want to take the thread any more OT so i have replied to your post in the Liverpool thread here: Lets Laugh at Liverpool thread

We can laugh but they've scored 17 goals in their last 5 home PL games, and 12 in the last 5 away PL games. We've scored 15 in those 10 games to their 27. Who thinks we'll keep a clean sheet at Anfield this weekend? WBA did recently so it's not out of the question. Without doubt Liverpool have improved over recent months even if they do have the odd blip here and there, all teams have those blip games.

I'd be happy with a point at Anfield this weekend.

Having a bit of class about an upturn in form and direction our of club is much better than being a prick on other supporters websits

Tell me whats the point in being a prick?

Your comment was pretty sensible, but I think what he meant was that it seems anytime a fan starts talking ourselves up, even in a non prickish way, another spurs fan comes out and says "oh remember 'mind the gap'?" or "what have we won in the past 10 years?". Stuff like that.

It just seems sometimes that we can't enjoy what we have at the moment because every one is so damn paranoid and has this insane inferiority complex about spurs.

I think Jealousy isn't the right word per se. However a lot of Liverpool fans I know love digging at Spurs, and its become more prevalent recently, and that's not a coincidence for me.

IMO, quite a few I know, are irritated by our progression and the manner in which we've done it - and obviously coupled with Liverpool's struggles in recent years. They don't say it, as they won't admit it, hence all the digs.

You come across completely different though (y)

It's not about inferiority more about having class. I still believe thats possible in supporters rather than stirring shit up on another website and coming back to report on spurs community.

I don't think it's unreasonable. Like many I have Arsenal mates and when we talk football I get the biggest kick seeing them coming to terms some begrudgingly to the fact that Tottenham ain't flyweight anymore I personally love the fact we've quietly come up on the blind side and the boasting for me doesn't sit well.

If some feel thats being a pussy so be it.
