Ha ha. The goons think we're wanking ourselves stupid over erikssen?

If they read the itk thread they'd realise we wanked ourselves stupid over all our new signings.
Sometimes it makes me nervous reading some of the posts on here. Imagining whats on peoples fingers when they're typing. Yuk.

Twatted by Arsenal? Really? REALLY? We more than matched them just had no end product. Well, until the latter stages of the game where Walker's chances should've fallen to Soldado or Defoe.

How are so many 'fans' this deluded nowadays? So hard to find a good discussion with oppo supporters.

I was about to post the same. We were Hadley battered. Maybe first half but we bossed them in the second

I think 'downhill skier' is meant to suggest that he plays well against weaker teams, but not against more challenging opponents.

We could have done with a few more downhill skiers in our home games against bottom half teams last season. If memory serves me right our pts and goals F/A record in those games were abysmal and we might readily have earned another 10 points had that not been the case.

Dude. Hipster dog returns. About goddam time. Repped.

But yeah, he watched us get twatted by assnal. So, he's either a liar (didn't see the game) or a retard.

We played them at the right time. They will improve as the season goes on, but so will we.

Re: Eriksen

Fair enough really, it was a good performance. It was a signing where he could've continued to stagnate or he could've really pushed on, right now it's looking like the latter. He is looking a fine player, and will provide them with the creativity they so desperately need. Early days yet but for the money he is looking like an important player for them, especially when you consider Holtby is the only other player they have that resembles anything close to a creative midfielder.

Bit soon to tell since he's played what 1 game for them? Most of the people that watch the dutch league I've read describing him don't seem to rate him for some reason so we'll see how he does as the season goes on I guess.

One thing is for sure though, he is no Özil.

Yep as I said it's early days but right now he's looking like an important player for them, he clearly suits English football and I don't think he can miraculously lose all the liveliness and ability he showed. Also when teams start to realise he is their only creative outlet it could be a bit of a problem as they mark the **** out of him, Cazorla handled it well last season but Eriksen is certainly no Cazorla.

He doesn't need to be as good as Özil to be good enough for them. If he fires they can stay ahead of Liverpool and possibly break into the top 4 (not at our expense though).

I've always rated Eriksen and never really understood all the Eriksen bashing that happened over the past season. He was supposedly not decisive enough in our big games, but I think he had quite a good assist tally in the CL and he had major contributions in several of our big matches. Also ran the most kilometers of any player in the CL group phase I think. He just doesn't have this air or presence about him, like say Fischer, but he was massively underrated by many.

I think he was ready for the next step for quite a while and was a bit stuck at a team that is declining every season over the past few seasons. I think he'll benefit a lot from moving to a bigger team and league, although obviously he has quite a way to go to (and will never reach Özil heights).

They're bloody confident, aren't they? One admittadly world class signing and they're all singing a different tune now than they were during the summer. I wan't to stuff them sooo badly...

I see Eriksen played well today and make an assist. i like him he is good player.

So happy for Eriksen. So many doubters, and then he goes and puts in a motm performance in his debut.

Wutwutwut? Sense? Did you just make it?

And then comes...

Look how they masturbate themselves to death over Eriksen

Really need someone to throw a bomb in that studio.

Yeah, he's not fit to lick Özil's studs.

Özil? he not even fit to lick Cazorla Studs.

Cazorla? He's not even fit to lick Ramsey's studs.

****s.

Thanks for clarifying, I would think that with a midfield quartet of Sandro, Dembele, Paulinho, and Capoue to choose from he will have a lot of protection to be able to go and play his game. Don't know to much about his Ajax days but I am assuming he would never had that kind of strength and power next to him to take some of the burden off of him. And at 21 he's still a kid in the scheme of things and with maturity and getting stronger physically he will only improve.

Only against Dinamo Tbilsi, a Georgian team. Heard he missed a lot of easy chances today.

An improvised backheel and a chance on his left foot with bodies between him and the goal = "easy" chances? Plus, the chance in the second half (the one he let run through to Townsend) would only count as one for him had Paulinho's pass been better.

To be fair, similar to how we state Giroud is a shitty striker but currently playing over his head, they will state Soldado is shit because he isn't scoring from open play, despite not really having any great chances created for him. Giroud would be absolute trash to the max if he wasn't getting the service he is. His finishing has been top notch, but let's not pretend Giroud is creating chances for himself. He's being put into advantageous positions by his teammates and he's finishing them off. No one can refute he's had a very strong start to the season and a striker's job is to finish the chances he's provided. But, once Soldado gets similar service, it'll be a sight.

Personally I'm quite happy for the other teams (or their fans at least) to keep underestimating us and writing us off while we languish in 2nd place on goal difference. It'll make it all the more enjoyable when they finally start to catch on!

Just as long as we don't make the same mistake with the likes of Liverpool etc.

I kind of like the fact that people keep on saying that we need time to gel, we're still not a finished product, yet we sit here through 4 matches with 9 points and honestly, despite a relatively mediocre showing, we very nearly pulled out a draw at the Emirates.

The mood has definitely changed from us being guaranteed-top 4 from the media. No pressure isn't a bad thing.
