If I was a Sunderlan fan (which is impossible as I'm extemely good looking and super smart, innit) I wouldn't give a shit if Spurs beat them at home, I mean, it's not going to have any impact on their 12th-17th place finish is it. Concentrate on your Broms and Burnley's, Sunderland.

Did you actually think this post through?

Is that just one deluded fan or are they really trying as a club for top 4?

I almost forgot about last seasons 5-1. Although we scored five I never thought it was a thrashing or anything, weird game.

I think we'd have scored more if we'd have wanted.
After all the spankings we took it was nice to watch and better than anything AVB served up.

They played pretty well the last time I saw..... oh but that was only against UTD and everyone's beating them these days. I was impressed by Buckley and he'd be the one to keep an eye on. Should be winning this comfortably but then we're Spurs

To be fair (with the exception of the derby against West Ham) we normally beat the teams we are supposed to beat these days. We only lost twice last season in the premiership against teams that finished below us; 1-0 both times against Newcastle and Norwich. We even got 4 pts out of 6 against Man Utd and Everton. Admittedly we didn't look very good in most of those games but we got the job done. It was our shameful record against the top 4 that really hurt us (1pt from 8 games).

I think we'll win this one.

Haha This comment is brilliant.

And their general pessimism and feeling cynically hard done by makes me feel some affiliation with them from a Spurs fan perspective. Poor guys.

Ha ha love it. Just shows this sort of attitude is universal. I always think that strikers who are off form or what ever will score against us (or I used too).

RAWK on possible new owners:

Why would anyone buy them right before the new stadium is built? Surely you buy afterward.
Obviously the information is limited as they are a new company. I would be a bit worried if I were a Spurs fan knowing a start-up company with no portfolio could be buying my club.
have spurs put a bid in for themselves yet?
They're waiting to see if we bid first.
1 billion for spurs.

No way these hardened businessmen will pay that much,it's worth around a quarter that and that's only because of it's location in london.
Taking off my Liverpool mind for a second, If I was an investor, I wouldn't want to invest in Spurs, I certainly wouldn't pay £1 billion. Right now, Germany would be a good place to go. Perhaps Italy if they get out their slump.
Spurs & Westham are probably the two clubs in England at the top of the list for potential investors... although not at 1 Billion! West Ham with the Olympic Stadium & the growing London branding of the club probably just edges it.
Valuing Spurs at £1 billion just shows the pure delusion of Daniel Levy. A fan should never own a football club.
The real money behind Cain Hoy is Guggenheim Partners. They're an obscenely wealthy investment group who are, incidentally, run by several of the people who were at the heart of the 2008 market crash (the current CEO was in charge of Bear Sterns when it collapsed).

So they'll have resources to put into the club though, being a for-profit enterprise, it's unlikely they'll put in Mansour-like sums.
£1bn? Are they getting their financial advice from Tom Hicks!?
The only way the £1 billion valuation makes sense is if Joe Lewis assumes full financial liability for the new stadium as well. Otherwise, an investor would have to be cloud cuckoo mad to sink in a billion and then spend another half a billion on building a brand new stadium.

Ah yes I would love to have a stadium, that would cost more to improve than building a stadium itself. Not to mention 26,000 seats wont be in use some of which would be to far to the see the football.

Also Im sure of the prospect of having their huge hospitality revenue from their hospitality suites of which, there are between 10 and 20

This comment just shows how little Liverpool fans know about football. German clubs have to adhere to the 50+1 rule that generally prevents investors from outside Germany as they aren't able to gain full control over the club.

In fairness to Liverpool supporters, I didn't know that. Not that that invalidates your main point :)

Interesting that the Liverpool fans are focusing on the completely made up valuation of £1bn. You'd have thought Liverpool fans, more than most, know not to believe everything you read in the papers.

Alas, no.

Alas, no.

Liverpool fans are still trying to work out how much 1billion is, and how many giros it takes to get that amount. ;)

Lol. This one takes the cake.

A Monkey could figure out that Cain Hoy is just a front for Guggenheim to purchase Spurs. The other investors in Cain Hoy would be part of the Spurs ownership group. Cain Hoy is essentially like the group that Guggenheim purchased the Dodgers with but they just incorporated it as a business and put a name on it, IMO. Maybe they'll buy up other assets but for now, Cain Hoy's main purpose seems to be the purchase of Tottenham Hotspur Limited.
