Taking off my Liverpool mind for a second, If I was an investor, I wouldn't want to invest in Spurs, I certainly wouldn't pay £1 billion. Right now, Germany would be a good place to go. Perhaps Italy if they get out their slump.

How exactly do you 'take off (your) Liverpool mind'? :wacky:

What is this comment? What actually is it?

@nidge already covered the German side of it, but what's he on about in general? There is so much more money in the premiership than these other two leagues. The premiership's tv broadcasts in Singapore alone equate to the same as the whole of the Bundesliga's foreign broadcasts. Not to mention that Tottenham as a global brand is probably bigger than almost every Italian and German club.

Aside from that, how exactly do you 'take off (your) Liverpool mind'? :wacky:

Really? Really?

Wow man. Do you really believe that bollocks?

How old are you?

Go back and read your post again before saying my post is spam ffs.

Are you always in a bad mood?

For what it's worth, my Singapore comment was ill informed (though I could have sworn I heard it from a reliable source). Regardless, here's the comparison in TV earnings..

TV-Money-Leagues-2.jpg

All numbers in € M, per year. The new Bundesliga TV deal, compared with others in Europe (size of english deal in € subject to currency fluctuations)

A lot more net revenue in the premiership, they're just not as well run as German clubs and so splurge it all on wages and transfer fees

Lol. This one takes the cake.

A Monkey could figure out that Cain Hoy is just a front for Guggenheim to purchase Spurs. The other investors in Cain Hoy would be part of the Spurs ownership group. Cain Hoy is essentially like the group that Guggenheim purchased the Dodgers with but they just incorporated it as a business and put a name on it, IMO. Maybe they'll buy up other assets but for now, Cain Hoy's main purpose seems to be the purchase of Tottenham Hotspur Limited.

For what it's worth, according to this article in the Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-founded-group-weighing-up-bid-for-Spurs.html) Guggenheim aren't thought to be behind the bid.

Todd Boehly is head of Cain Hoy. He is also president of Guggenheim. Silverman is still vice chair of aquisitions at Guggenheim. Cain Hoy was Guggenheim's stables where he made his money.

Might be going on a limb here but I think Guggenheim has something to do with Cain Hoy.

No not all but it does wind me up when I read silly things about Spurs especially from our own fans because I like to think we are the best fans and it offends me when I'm proven wrong.

Ok. Let me walk you through it.

In Italy. Bigger and better known clubs than us.

AC Milan
Inter Milan
Roma
Juventus
Lazio
Napoli

We are Sampdoria level basically.

Germany

Bayern
Dortmund
Leverkusen
Schalke

Then we are ranked with the Frankfurts, Bremen Herta Berlin and the likes.

I hate to break it to you but its not 1982/3 anymore.

I know we live in a premiership bubble where we think money is a measure of success but to the rest of the world it's about winning stuff.

I work with quite a few foreign football fans, one even flies back to Germany to watch his team every other weekend and pretty much all of them have said I am the first Tottenham fan they have met and literally know nothing of us.

One season in cl in 20 odd years does not give world renowned popularity.

We have the chance to be a global brand but then again so does Hull City.

Sorry mate but I am a realist.

We're 13th on the European rich list from Deloitte without the stadium. This is the information that money men take notice of

What? THAT's the part that got you all wound up? Deary me. Less well known than Leverkusen, Schalke, Lazio and Napoli. That's laughable. Do you know how much more coverage the Premiership gets than other leagues round the world? You're telling me we're equal to Frankfurt and Werder Bremen? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

On average, each Premier League game has a global audience of 12.3 million people, per Football-Marketing.com's 2011 data, which far outstrips La Liga, the Bundesliga and Serie A.

In fact, if you added together the average global audience per game for these leagues—La Liga with 2.2 million (via EPFL-Euroleagues.com), theBundesliga (via 2012's economic report) with two million and SerieA (via Alessandro Baroncelli and Raul Caruso) with 4.5 million—it stillwouldn’t overtake the all-powerful Premier League.

Same as Frankfurt? Have a word with yourself.

But what has that got to do with us being a big European/ world Club?

We play in the global league where somethimes less that 30% of the players are from England. It stands to reason that we would be the most popular league. We are basically foreign run with foreign players playing in England. And boy do we pay for it. Highest match day tickets in the world and highest subscription fees.

But it should also be pointed despite all this money we still can't attract the best players.

Go figure

Unfortunately this is pretty much true - although I think you've exaggerated it some what with some of the clubs you suggest are bigger/more famous than us

I have family in Rome and their friends love English football

Whenever I am there their friends question me about English teams - but always Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City or Arsenal

There was a time when they would ask me who I support and when I told them they would look at me blank and not even know what I was talking about (of if they did wonder why on earth I supported them)

I'd constantly have one of their friends or another messaging me on facebook and telling me they're coming to London and asking if I could get them tickets to a Arsenal or a Chelsea game or to tell them where they can get tickets from.

That said...... after our CL run in 2010 all of a sudden these guys where loving us, knew all about us and Bale/VdV/Modric, were suddenly messaging me and asking me to take them to White Hart Lane (which I have done with several of them now) and wanting me to get them Spurs shirts with players names on the back (again always one of those three)

Unsurprisingly I haven't heard from anyone in Rome about going to White Hart Lane since Bale left mind...... I'm sure the looks will again be vacant now

The league as a whole can. It's just in Spain you have 2 giants and in Germany 1.

CL has destroyed football.

Yes. And probably they are behind the bid, hence the "For what it's worth" bit, on the other hand the telegraph journo will have done his research and the link is obvious, so it's at the least interesting that he specifically denies the connection. The question is if not due to information he's received then why say it? If from Cain Hoy, then why would he uncritically regurgitate it, rather than express the same scepticism you have?

Sorry, what?

http://www.deloitte.com/view/en_GB/.../5aa11261e7c5c310VgnVCM3000003456f70aRCRD.htm

We make the 13th most money out of everyone. Italian teams above us: AC Milan, Juve and Inter. German teams above us, Bayern and BVB. How do you suppose we're making this money? For the most part, it's TV deals. And why do we get good tv deals? Because more people want to watch us..

And here it is. Drumroll please. The big reveal..

More people want to watch us because we're a bigger club than Frankfurt and Werder Bremen...

We're much more well known than most the clubs you've stated. Yes, of course Chelsea and Arsenal are bigger clubs than us, but we're still very big on the global stage. And what are you on about not attracting big players? Name big players who have gone to clubs below us on that list who we couldn't have attained? We're still signing sought after players like Eriksen and Lamela..

Btw..

http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/about/the-worlds-most-watched-league.html

With that many people watching, you think people don't know who we are? I'm done here..
