It always makes me laugh when these clubs get genuine delusions of grandeur. West Ham a threat to Spurs? Come on, that's madness. OK, they may win a few games and go on a little run, but it's not a long term position is it? I can have my spurs-tinted glasses on as much as the next fan, but I'm not going to truly believe that we are going to compete with Man City/Man Utd/Chelski long term unless things change drastically in terms of spending philosophy.

To be fair, there are plenty of Spurs fans who say similar things about Spurs in relation to Arsenal. We have more than enough delusional fans of our own.

And while we are clearly a bigger club than West Ham - with a larger fan base, greater spending power and richer history of success - it would be foolish to idly dismiss the threat that they pose this season. With nearly two thirds of the season gone, they are within four points of us and have, on the whole, impressed. It's not at all beyond the scope of imagination that they could finish above us come season's end - especially if we were to lose some key players to injury.

You make a good point, but I wasn't really saying that West Ham couldn't finish above us (I don't think they will, btw, spurs-tinted glasses aside) - I was responding to the idea that their fans can't see why we aren't a better option for one of their players, or why we wouldn't be the obvious choice for a player being pursued by both clubs. For that decision (and I'm ignoring money here), it is long term results and likelihood that would play the biggest part. If you were to bet on which team would have more success over the next 5 years, taking into account recent history, fan base, revenue, European qualification, calibre of current team, etc, etc, there's only one clear choice right?

TBF, though, we were pretty much on a par with the Goons for most of our history, only seeing a genuine gap when were virtually out of commission from the early nineties at precisely the same time as they enjoyed the benefits of CL money, EPL money and TV money. They subsequently built a new stadium with much higher capacity. Even so, we have clawed our way back to the point where for a fair few seasons of the last decade they have only just squeezed ahead of us by a gnat's whisker, and that, often via several dreadful officiating decisions in their favour, extremely suspect last minute move allowances, and gawddam awful oppos performances, and being forced to play with half our team vomiting on the pitch - the word given by former Goon from steps of Highbury, no less.

You have to ask yourself:
Do Wet Spam have an extensive history of being pretty much on a par with us?
Have Wet Spam even got close to finish above, or even round about us, in the last ten years (whether we benefitted from a whole host of stinky decisions and rulings or not)?

That should put into perspective how delusional our fans are with regard to the Goons compared to how delusional the Spammers are in regard to us, TBH (y)

My roommate has just told me that he expects Arsenal to "dick all over us" and that we've become a "one man team," as well as saying that Welbeck's coming back and he's better than any striker we have. I told him that Wilshere's son's real father is Harry Kane and we're going to smash them.

Living with an Arsenal supporter is bearable 50 weeks of the year. Should be a fun few days leading up to the match.

I reckon if we win you should shit on his pillow.

If we lose shit on his pillow.

Actually, just shit on his pillow regardless. Then deny everything.

We seem to have been branded a one-man team...but it's a different man each week depending on whether it's Kane or Eriksen delivering the goods.

How dare they have the audacity to label us a one man team. If you take away Sanchez they would be mid table. That is the only player I fear in that Arsenal team.

This one man team shit is embarrassing, and it really shows how little football these guys actually watch. At the end of Bale's time here we were a one man team - now we have Kane, Eriksen and Lloris who have been excellent almost every match for a couple of months now. We also have a host of other players that have been playing well consistently (Vertonghen, Bentaleb and arguably Fazio and Mason), not to mention Chadli who has chipped in with 7 goals in 20 games (not a bad ratio for a winger).

I find it deeply offensive that people are saying that we're a one man team at the moment.

It shows a clear lack of knowledge about how we're playing, our system and the tactical nuances involved.

We are clearly a two man team...you douche.

7 in 20 is the same ratio as Welbeck (welbeck in all comps, chadli in PL).

Chadli is 9 in 22 in all comps
