As someone that knows Stratford and the surrounding area pretty well I would say that the gloss has already gone from the whole Westfield and olympic park development already, the locals bringing it down pretty quickly - I wouldn't boast about it too loudly if I was that West Ham poster. 25000 West Ham supporters strolling around there every two weeks will only bring it down further. As they say you can't polish a turd.

Me neither.
Mybe we are confusing "Faiweather" with "plastic" which I doubt Lilbaz intended.

Edit: Sorry only just read this but it is obviously old news so back to the thread.

Wow them other fans eh! silly billies.
For what its worth I've always thought that the better you do the more other fans dislike you so its all a bit of a vote of confidence really.
Perhaps one day we'll buy a player from Saints and see what happens then:)

Completely agree. I used to work there pre and post the Olympics and it is still a dive. The Westfield is not a patch on the one in White City

Stratford has definitely improved the Westfield has good shops a great casino I'd say it's better than white city imo the transport links too are good the only problem is, it can be over crowded.

From what it was to how it is now Tottenham could do with that level of development... .

I bloody wouldn't. It's like Sunderland, they may have a new stadium, but it's still shite.

So you think Stratford hasn't improved...thats odd. Forget Wet Spam moving in, Im talking about the area...it's not a shit hole there are far worse parts in London.

Putting West Ham aside, Stratford wasn't a pit it was the pits, absolutely no reason to go there and every reason to get out; the improvement there is absloute, it is bloody astonishing to be honest.

People don't realise what is going on in tottenham. We will only be a tiny part of the regeneration. Everything from tottenham hale being a major transport hub, cross rail 2, the redevelopment of the high street, the love lane redevelopment, to a basic gentrification of the whole area.

I will google it myself and read up but just quickly is it being turned into a Stratford or Shoreditch? An actual place people will want to go, I only really know of what we're doing and I don't know how many people outside of football will just come to climb a climbing wall etc

It's improved it, for sure – there was no reason to go to Stratford before, for one – the transport links now are great, too, but that Westfield is horrible. It's a sham of a shopping centre. I can't spend more than 15 minutes there without coming out in hives.

It hasn't been planned very well. It's claustrophobic and the walkways are stupidly tight, creating bottlenecks everywhere - compared to even the likes of the Harlequin in Watford, it's stupidly small for the amount of space they had to work with. Most of the shops have nothing in them, and are boutique/holding versions of actual shops. They've also clearly got a load of premium brands in there on the discount, to up the status level and hopefully attract other brands - but it hasn't worked. So you've got, like, Gucci next to Clare's Accessories and other such anomalies. Not sure it knows what it wants to be.

If you have no other options, I guess it's cool, and yes, there's nothing like that in Tottenham. But for pretty much every shop in it, you're better off either going into central London (which is not very far on the central line) or shopping online.

It does have a cinema and some decent food places though

I didn't say it hadn't improved, and yes there are worse areas in London, and I never even said it was the worst area of London! It's still bloody awful, and one of the most deprived areas of UK. I wouldn't want to live there and my family comes from very close by.

Yes....anywhere south of the river.
I don't think so mate. I'm spurs through and through but am also from south London. Places like Dulwich, Blackheath Mitcham are lovely. Yeh there are shit holes but south London has a far more organic feel than north of the river.

:ROFLMAO:

Stratford one of the most deprived areas of the UK? Not even anywhere near.

I moved south before Christmas and can confirm its lovely. Been slightly shitty about south London all my life and happy to admit when I'm wrong

I'm so glad I'm reading posts about what opponents are saying about us, and not how good/shitty certain places in London are. No one cares, talk about it privately or in another thread that's dedicated to that certain topic.

No. My definition was people that didn't go to games. Maybe you should read my posts instead of being a dick. At no point have i been rude to you.
I think calling someone a "fair weather fan" because they can't go to games is pretty rude tbh. I live across the ocean and obviously can't go to games, but if you called me a fair weather fan I'd slap you in the mouth.

"Fairweather Fans" has a very specific meaning. You can't have your own definition - rather, you can - but it would be wrong.
