Went out for drinks with 2 Scousers and a Villa supporter last night.

The 2 LFC supporters kept saying how they "wished Gestede had finished a couple more of his chances" so the owners would "finally fire the fraud leading the squad"......The Villa supporter simply asked them if they wanted to swap managers :ROFLMAO:

Not sure they have much to complain about, their goal looked JUST off side as well. Granted, walker was a mile off, but It's about time we got a little luck
it's either onside or offside and the decision is made in real time by the linesman.Sometimes the decision goes your way, sometimes it doesn't.The only solution would be to have tv similar to the Rugby TMO, which I would imagine, most clubs and fans would not want.

Wasn't their CB lucky to be on the pitch after taking out Lamela?
Demichelis should have had a second yellow, certainly. Hard in general to see how the ManC fans can moan much about the refereeing. Sure, it was awful, but in both directions. We did score 2 valid goals to their zero after all.

Let be honest we all would be livid if we were on the end of those refereeing mistakes.
So dont be to hard on the City fans.

Yes I would but I would have had the decency to admit that our goal was also offside and that Dimichelis should have got a red

Another billion investment and they should get themselves out of CL groups. I imagine they could buy ref decisions too?

I get his frustration but it's all very similar to when Danny Rose conceded a penalty and got sent off for a completely fair tackle at 0-1 in a game they went on to win 1-5 two seasons ago.

I've no sympathy for fans of City, Utd and Chelsea when these things happen - they all benefit more often than they suffer. And with all that money they've got its not like we're all starting on a level playing field in the first place is it?

I still find it hard to think of City as a big club.....Too ingrained in me that most of my life they have been a joke club (and they still struggle with crowds in the CL) so hard to even get annoyed when thieir fans get annoyed about decisions going against them - they dont still have the entitlement of Chelsea, Utd fans etc so think they are just showing a similar level of frustration that we would if the other way around.

The Walker offside was a sprint so the lino has to watch the run whilst also watching the pass from 10 yards back its really hard to judge unless your marty feldman it's quite easy to miss judge as well
Tough job made light of by ex footballers who would get decisions wrong 80% of the time

He should have called it but you are right about the run, its easy to see when the frame is stopped but when the run came from ten yards back you only have a split second to check the pass and runner, an instant too long on one or the othe and you miss it, I suspect thats what happened and if you miss it you can't give it, unlike the lino last year this one didn't just guess.

The thing that gets me about that Walker offside is that people should be focusing more on the time city had after that cross to get rid of the danger. Their own player passed the ball right to Dier FFS. Why don't you focus on that you plebs.

Lets remember against Sunderland when we had a goal ruled out for offside, when the ball and man were both in the Spurs half!!! This is just karma giving us back what poor referees took from us

Because as soon as Walker touched the ball the game should have stopped.

HOWEVER. There seems to be so much more of an outcry whenever an offside is missed compared to fouls and hand balls. If Walker had fouled his man or hand balled but the lino missed it, it would hardly have got a mention.

Thing is, if walker wasn't offside there was still no one around him for it to matter.

The issue is all about momentum and shifts.
Ignoring their offside goal for a moment (and honestly it was tight, so its easy to see why it was missed)... If Walker is flagged offside as half the City team were expecting, then the goal obviously doesn't happen, had he not been offside or a much closer call, then those players are likely more switched on and then who knows... On top, Demechelis doesn't get booked for remonstrating with the ref and the team as a whole likely goes in at the break with the lead and the momentum. That single moment completely swung the game for us.

Now... the real mistake was actually the city players stopping and waiting for a whistle that never came. That is criminal. I don't care what you believe is happening, you play to the whistle. We teach this at all levels of football, all sport even, so City fans can rightly moan about the decision, but they should equally be moaning at their players for completely switching off, because that single act cost them the game big time. Spurs got the momentum the luck too for sure, but we earned it through endeavour.

City equally bottled it after the break and clearly have issues, despite the quality of squad they posses. They should simply not be letting those moments affect them as such. The second goal was a real sucker punch from which, bar a small moment afterwards almost floored them there and then.

Thing that surprised me most apart from the lino not sticking his flag up was Walker managed to deliver a decent ball into the box

I see your point - BUT:
Every decision changes the rest of the game. A wrong throw in means the following situations will be different. So maybe if the Walker-offside had been called we would have won 6-1? Or maybe we would have lost 5-1 as we always do against them?

The point is, a referee decision is a variable you cannot control, and therefore you should not be too affected by them, and make sure you focus on what you can control - Concentration, running, etc...

And I also think De Bruyne is getting to easy off the hook here - He had miles of space for himself, and played a shitty pass... And their Goalie was more obsessed by screaming to the teammates than actually look at the ball...

So in conclusion: Offside should have been given, but it wouldn't have been a goal if the City players had done their job.
