When will they acknowledge the reason Alli didn't go to Liverpool had nothing to do with Rodgers or their committee but Alli turning Liverpool down? That's right you fucks, he didn't want to play for Liverpool.

Also, that Goon saying Alli isn't a patch on Wilshere is fucking jokes.

Was Alli not a liverpool fan though?

Or was all that just bollox?

Alli said: "I remember Istanbul, the FA Cup final, and the game against Olympiakos: Gerrard just scoring amazing goals. Gerrard was a big influence on why I supported Liverpool."

The clubs footballers supported as kids are pretty inconsequential really.

There are numerous reasons why he might have chosen us over Liverpool: better first team prospects, more money, lure of London (he's from MK after all).

Who knows what really happened with Liverpool's interest in Alli, and really, who cares? He's here now, he's just signed a new contract, and he's flourishing.

I know poch likes giving the kids ago, but if we had VdV in this team now, we'd be top. no doubt in my mind.

No we wouldn't. And before you decide that I'm being purposely argumentative, I'm really not.

Poch's game is all about hard work, quick closing down, and extremely high levels of fitness. Not only that, but it's also about everyone being equals, no egos or attitudes.

Remember, as good as VdV was, he was pretty much knackered after 60 minutes. Also, as good as he was, by his own admission, he left after AVB refused to guarantee him a starting spot. In his interview after he left, he said "before AVB came, I was the man" , and then went on to explain how he wasn't guaranteed a shirt, so opted to return to Germany.

Sorry, I'm really not looking for an argument. I just can't envisage any sort of scenario in which VdV would've been of any use to Pochettino?

EDIT: Shit! Didn't realise the whole world had already responded to that post

I've read a few interviews and you can piece together that Spurs showed the strongest interest in him, And his Manager at MK, Robinson recommended that he should go to Spurs. I can't link the interview but I am pretty sure Robinson was maybe not pushing him to go to Spurs but at least telling him for his best interest he should go to Tottenham.

And I think we have established well before Ali coming to us that we have one of the best if not the best record for bringing through younger players.

If he gets Young Player of the Year we have got the last 4/5 winners. Walker, Bale, Kane, Ali. Excellent record.

Rodgers says Robinson drove Alli to Anfield himself, and tipped Liverpool off in the first place. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...nd-we-thought-we-had-him-says-brendan-rodgers

Could be bobbins but be interested to see reports saying he was pushing him to Spurs. Was Robinson pushing him to everyone?
