I may be a sad, bitter and twisted old git but the main reason I love us beating City is because whenever we do, I get a mental picture in my head of that utter dick Noel Gallacher. Brilliant musician and I love Oasis's music but what a horrible, Tottenham hating c**t.

It's alright, they're just a shit Chas n Dave (y) :joyful:

Honestly, not laughed as hard watching a match as when our fans sung that at him at the Lane a couple of years back.

Saintsweb, on the possibility of Poch leaving Spurs:

"Once a rat always a rat, he'll sell his sole to the highest bidder and take his mates with him. "

Saintsweb need their own Spelling & Grammar Thread - unless Poch has a side-line in Fish mongering I don't know about...

Not worried about that.
I'm pretty confident Poch could manage barefoot if needed.

Or do they mean his pet fish??

So I totally understand why they are creating every excuse under the sun as to why we will fail and/or why it's a one off.

Their previously attainable target is sailing off into the distance, leaving them in their dust with fuck all to hope for.

There's always the Fair Play League and more defeats to Maltese nobodies?

:D

Haha! :joyful:

Although to us fans who went through the 90s dreaming of finishing 6th and qualifying for the Uefa Cup (or maybe sneak in via the Intertoto), it feels a bit too recent to make that gag...

Yeah, that was brilliant. It was Liam though, not Noel and to be fair to him he applauded all the Spurs fans and took it in very good humour. He was well tanked up though.

And then when we did qualify that Gooner tosspiece didn't take it seriously and we got knocked out by fucking Kaislerslauten.

Obviously not. But he jumped in order to block the cross which he succeeded in but partially with his arm.

Nothing wrong with jumping to block the cross. The ball touched his hand completely by accident. It wasn't headed goal wards off his back either.

Not a penalty and if it was a Spurs player you'd agree.

It was a fair penalty. The hand was lifted up and away from the body. One is simply not allowed to block a ball that way, however ... "unintentional" it is. Completely understandable decision.

Behave, he has never shown that kind of form or ability.

I beg to differ the season he was actual fit for more than two games his goals to games ratio was higher even than Suarez.

Just because a player is always injured doesn't mean he doesn't have exceptional talent. Just as Ledley King was over looked by other fans because he struggled so much we all knew what ability the guy had.

Woy will 100% take him to the euros even if he's not fully fit. How many times have we seen England managers in the past take players to major tournaments when they should do.

Would be a mistake IMO, all very well having a good player but if he ain't fit what's the point. But it would be typical England to risk it.

This. If this had been given against us we'd all be fuming.

We're due one so who cares? Doesn't mean we have to convince ourselves it was a good decision.

Actually, if it's unintentional he could have caught the ball, bounced it a few times and then spun it on his finger. When it comes to hand ball the only thing to consider is whether it was deliberate or not. It's not a foul to touch the ball with your hand unless you do it intentionally, in any situation. Even if it's on the line stopping a goal.

I think I find us going over this discussion every other week.

"Intention" in the rules is actually interpreted as intention/lack of intention in avoiding handball. You don't have to demonstrate that the handball was unintentional, you must demonstrate that you intentionally acted to avoid the handball. Which actually are two different things. So, if you don't show enough intention to avoid the ball with your hand, it's handball. This is to avoid that players arbitrage when their hands are already placed unnaturally. Funny, huh?
