As a Portuguese I know Eric Dier very well (as a footballer obviously) and this article seems kind of odd to me, although I understand it due the different perspective that the English have on him. The thing is, he isn't very good, and the fact that his first season in Sporting was the one he played the most shows it, and it is also important to mention that in that season he played mostly in the midfield rather than as a centre back, and he does look better playing as an holding midfileder. Here in Portugal he was highly rated at the beginning but now he is regarded as the"next flop" so I don't think that you should put the bar so high for him, because here in Portugal we don't, and would be a surprise if he did make it in the PL. To conclude last season he played very few games in Sporting, and if we take into account who were the centre backs of the club, it doesn't bode well for him... But I might be completely wrong of course

So Southampton then. There's been a few issues over the years, what with Poch, Hoddle, Bale, Chivers etc. But surely that's all in the past now. Let bygones be bygones, eh? So let's see what Saints fans think of us today. Are they ready to grow up, move on, forgive and forget? A quick visit to Saints Web gives us the answer I think we were all expecting...

"You've played some good stuff, but that's just like putting lipstick on a Rottweiler, covering over a morally bankrupt cheating conniving nest of vipers running the club."

Eeeew-wooh, as Vic and Bob would say.

Ian Wright - closet spurs fan - showing us love again...

Wright says it's "so unfair" to judge them on the back of that performance, and believes that Tottenham will come back much stronger next season.
“They’ll have something to say about that next season. They’ll come back stronger. If it wasn’t for Spurs, Leicester would have ran away with it and embarrassed everyone,” Arsenal legend Wright told The Sun.

“People are saying, ”Typical Spurs’. It is so unfair to say that. Spurs have changed and next season we will see the fruits of their labour.”[

He may as well just 'come out' and say he's a yid. :)
