Imagine that - we just let a live cockerel onto the pitch and hope it manages at least a sort of full lap, before a dozen stewards have to chase it around - we could do that bit to the Benny Hill tune.

I love it.
That's brilliant, especially with the Benny Hill music. You could even put numbers on the steward's backs and have a lottery on which number caught the cockerel ... Ching Ching ....

Pretty sure the French rugby team used to do just that?

Does anyone think Noocastle will keep their 'stars'? I would take wijnaldum seems like a half decent player.

A good friend of mine is a Newcastle fan and he reckons wijnaldum is a waste of space. Talented but lazy and rarely turns up, basically coasting off the back of one game where he scored 4 goals. Best avoided! I've watched them quite a bit and I've always though mitrovic looked a very useful player, id like to see what poch could do with him.

I agree in Mitrovic. He's one of their few players who looks like he cares, and he's got quite good movement in and around the box. Shame for him that the rest of the team is dross.

Mitrovic's finishing is truly diabolical. He should be locked up for the sitters he misses.

What stars would they want to keep? A team who has ability but has shown a distinct lack of fight going into a division where the quality isn't as good as the Prem but the fight is even more agricultural.

My brother has been a season ticket holder at St James's since 1991 (he studied oop there, got a job and partnered a local lass) and he considers him to be a highlights player...and not for every game, either. Doubt he would fit Poch's intense training and style. He also says Shelvey, who by previous reputation and viewing would be expected to have shown some fight, has been less impressive than expected in this regard.

I like Mitrovic. He shows plenty of passion and fight. I think we will be signing Batshuayi, personally (not ITK), and I doubt Mitrovic would be happy to understudy him and Kane. And Poch doesn't go for less preferred alternatives when he can't get the players he wants, so I doubt he would go for Mitrovic unless he really wanted him. But he is a player I would be intrigued to see playing under Poch. His finishing can be sloppy - but we at the Lane have some experience of young players who come to England and initially struggle in this regard. I think he does have some quality, and he is hard-working and committed.

Other than that? That lad Townsend looks like he could be okay if he can tame his wild shooting :cautious:

I'm sure Townsend has a relegation clause of £8m, Sell him for £12m and bring back for £8m. Can Levy resist those numbers? ;)

Is your mate the True Geordie? He pretty much agrees with all that.

Not as much as the Robbie Keane one.

It's no wonder oppos fans hate Levy!
He's sold a player and then bought him back a couple of months later, making a considerable profit.
He's bought a player and then sold him back a couple of months later at a profit.
He's made a profit on a player we didn't even buy.
And he's sold Mido at a profit after he became a bloated parody of Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now.
