Quite simply a ridiculous article and a waste of my time reading it, even skimming over it. It's really nothing short of a ridiculously biased point of view and I won't even bother to point out the many unbelievable parts that immediately spring to mind.

There can be no denying that Tottenham players were exemplary en-route to an eventual finish of third, but it was an achievement that Palace could easily have emulated, had the Eagles’ pre-Christmas league form continued into 2016.

This is incredible stuff. Could quite easily be written as

I gave up when it said that Spurs players under performed. Walker and Rose were two of the best players in the squad, with Dier not far behind.

Hahhaah amazing... he basically cherry picked the stats that favoured Palace and to make it look like it was a balanced article let Spurs win a few.

Best bit is when he said they could have easily finished third if they had not been so shit after Christmas.

Oh come on, would you think it was a waste of time going to see a great stand up comedian?

In fairness to the article, the fella who wrote it does touch onto a very valid point, regarding how the England squad is chosen.

Where he falls down is by comparing the spurs players who were all actually on form and fully deserved to be picked (just shit management caused some of them to be ineffective), however, there are players from all clubs that could do a better job in the england team (certainly from what we saw and stats aside).

I guess, the picking from the trendier/bigger club often takes precedence. Although if the article was comparing the likes of Henderson, Wilshere and Sterling - it may have rang a bit truer.

I also liked how he decided to compare Dier in DM to Dann at CB - then proceeded to compare the stats that are important for a CB and wondered why Dann had made more blocks and clearing headers. Also ignoring the fact that Palace are shit and do a lot more defending than Spurs, meaning Dann would obviously spend a lot more time than Dier making blocks and clearing headers.

I also love this line:

blocks and successful headers, the very essence of a centre back or a defensive midfielder

No, mate. Blocks and headers are important for a centre back - but don't try and shove DM in there to suit your point. A DM doesn't make blocks and rarely heads the ball - try comparing tackles and interceptions instead.

Oh and finally - his final Dier/Dann stat - "Average pass length"! :ROFLMAO:

So because Dann plays 40 yards further back and smacks more long balls than Dier, that makes him a better player.

Deluded fuckwit.
