The one Poch decides on, he has been pretry succesful so far and isnt afraid to switch it up either.

We dont look like buying a glut of over priced players that mean we have to change it all anyway? May well be another year of stability at Spurs and building for others.

We have the players to be flexible so we should stay that way, having the ability to easily switch between 3421 and 4231 is a good strength to have. Keeps the opposition guessing if they don't know how we're gonna line up from game to game.

Don't seem to be playing much attention here. Modern coaches educate their players to be able to adapt to a range of systems. Sometimes these will change match to match...opponent to opponent but even more crucially sometimes within a game itself. We have been one of the more successful sides in doing this under Poch. In the words of an old cliche/adage "horses for courses".

4-4-2 cos we're Brexit in it geezer. None of this EU imposed 4-3-3, 3-4-3 or 4-2-3-1 bullshit. :pompous:

There seems a focus on a certain amount of flexibility in players. What starts out as a 4231 with Dier and Wanyama at the base of the midfield, quickly becomes 3421 when Dier drops between Toby and Jan, with Eriksen dropping alongside Wanyama.
I think it was Watford we played last year, where their manage said they couldn't work out what system we were playing, because the team was so fluid.
Personally with the players we have, I think 3421 suits us best, and the summer transfer rumours of looking for another CB lean towards bolstering numbers for playing a back 3. Also, bringing in Barkley would be a suitable alternative for Eriksen, in starting higher up in the 3 of a 4231, but being able to drop back alongside Wanyama as they transition to 3421.
The players we appear to be looking at are versatile. Pereira or Toljean to replace Walker are athletic wing backs, ideal for 3421, but equally both have played a fair bit on the left as well as the right. Ginter being looked at as CB option, also comfortable at RB or DM like Dier.

Your question invites the 'obvious' answer which has already been stated. The secret of success required for both Premier League and European competition is flexibility. You need a squad which can operate equally well within a variety of formations and different styles of play in order to overcome a particular opponent. That ability is one which may be called upon at various stages of a match dependent upon ever changing circumstances. That is where the true qualities of the manager shine....being able to constantly bring out the best of his team even though some players are being asked to play out of there natural positions. It's all about having a multi talented squad that can adapt as necessary to the questions being asked by their opponents at the time. So no set 'system' just a very happy, confident and talented group of players being organised by an astute and forward thinking manager....and guess what....that's what we have !
