Judging by the reports of his performance on Tuesday, Gunter seems a very useful buy indeed. He certainly appears to have made a better fist of playing LB than Chimbonda. So Comolli can't be that incompetent.

Ifil has gone to Colchester on loan, Salty is on his way out, and Chimbonda hasn't exactly shone in defence this season. And I think you'll find Chimbonda's agent does a perfectly good job of unsettling him.

You may not rate Downing, but it seems that Juande does, and since Martin did too, that's good enough for me. And it ought to be good enough for everyone.

Any sign of a new captain, someone to lead and dominate from midfield.

There has to be one out there. So far it doesn't seem like Comolli has found one.

As for Downing and Hutton: if they aren't showing a willingness to come to Spurs then why bother entertain them.

Mind you the same could be said of Defoe, if he isn't willng to sign an extension then we have no option but to move him on.

In Ramos we trust. ...... hopefully he's in charge.

it's also wrth repeating that at the start of the window (you know the one where we were going to sell Berbs JD & Bent) spurs made an official statement to the effect that we wouldn't be doing a lot of selling - and something like 'essential business' re buying -

now admittedly it was all a bit vague but the club were trying to hint to people - hey you know what it's unlikely we'll be selling half our squad and getting in half of europe in return

yeh god! commoli is crap. I mean berbatov was an awful signing and bale. Chimbonda has been terrible since day one, i mean he even made it into team of the year. Not to mention taarabt and boetang, only the hottest prospects in football at our club! WHAT IS GOING ON!

God heaven forbid we should sign fred, one of the best attackers around!

:bang:

By the way im taking the

If someone came in for one of our players during this window we would be far more likely to just say no than in the summer and that is the story elsewhere too.
Clubs can't get a replacement so they would leave themselves under strength for the rest of the season and that is why they say no at this time of year or want a player swap deal.
That said we are only half way through the window expect things to heat up over the next two weeks.

transfer season, its always a load of dead herrings followed by a nonsensical signing right at the very end.

Ok ok!! Listen up guys!

Firstly i'm not gonna argue with anyone (especially not our own fans), thats not the way i operate.

With regards to what i said when i started this thread........i put my hands up, maybe i was a bit hasty, jumped the gun - from a few things i read last night and this morning, just frustrated me which led to this thread.

But to be honest, and although i can't comment on how Commolli works, i can only go by his signings with regards to what we need (or what i and a load of other fans think we need) - and YES! he has got us some seriously good players, but what have we seen lately???

- how long have we been screaming for a LW for example, i mean just think we could've had MGP for peanuts from Tromso before he went to Blackburn, we were the first Prem club in for him if i remember correctly!!

I guess i shouldn'tve blamed Commolli as i don't know what he's actually doing this window, but i can say that sometimes i get the feeling that we're always buying for the future and not for the present.

I know we've got quality through the side and i know players like Malbranque have done well (out of position), but just think how much better we'd be with players who actually play there all the time!

Apologies if anyone got the hump, but in my own personal opinion (and yes it is my PERSONAL opinion), right now, in this Jan window, i don't think we need anyone more than a CB or LW - if we got another player like Naybet, who could do a job for the rest of the season for sure, i'd be chuffed.

I'M OUT!!

What's the point of blaming Commoli for us not signing MGP when he wasn't even working for us when Blackburn signed him?

Players are not sitting on the shelves at supermarket. You can't go in and pick a LW and pay at the cashier.
How many good LWs are in the market and how many clubs are looking for a good LW. Even if we discover a LW, there are a lot of things have to be sort. (does other club wants him, would his club sell him, will his club do business with us, will he want to come, is our wage attract him..........)
I believe we have try very hard to get a LW but sometimes you can't do anything about it.
Don't always complaint. Think harder and deeper. Be considerate.

i agree that Comolli hasn't set the world alight with his signings. yes there are some goo future prospects but to be honest i think more could have been done to bring in a LW by now.

will he sign us the right players before the end of Jan? who knows......

the only other point here is that now Ramos is in charge we have less idea of what his preferred formation is. perhaps he yearns for us to play 4-3-3 every game, in which case bringing in another stiker is not so stupid.....

let's wait and see and the have a go on Feb 1st if it seems like he hasn't done a good job.
