Fuck the pundits. They all talk complete shite and it's not worth listening to.

The narrative won't ever change. Now it's that we havent won anything. If we win the FA Cup it'll be, yeah but they haven't won the league. Even if we won the league it would then transfer to the CL.

Fed up of it. Never watch the 'expert analysis' anymore, unless it's BT who occasionally have some genuinely interesting insight with Rio/Gerrard/Lampard

And he’s not doing himself any favours. It’s like he goes out with a checklist. Nutmeg? Check. Attempt to win a penalty? Check.
Haha kind of related to this checklist thing...

IMO after he wasnt given the penalty when Van Aanholt fouled him and the accused him of diving straight afterwards (even though it absolutely should have been a pen) I think when he was confronted by Hennessy shortly thereafter he wanted to play the pantomime villain and deliberately exaggerated the way he went down, or conciously dived, just to wind Palace and their fans, who were already booing him at this point, up.

I think you’re right, he does play up to the away fans. But cameras are on him and taken out of context it looks ridiculous.

just seen a clip of Jamie Redknapp and that buffoon Paul Merson talking about Toby's contract......basic consensus between them was give him whatever he wants, as if its just that simple.

I know many on this forum feel the same but that said, I would like to know how many companies our Jamie and twit boy Merson have run. What degrees in economics from Cambridge (like Daniel Levy) or elsewhere do they have and have they studied in any depth the balance sheet, loan terms and cash flow projections of THFC?

How many billion pound construction projects have either of those two been involved in, let alone initiated and seen through to completion.

Every Spurs fan I know would love Toby to stay (myself included), but things are a lot more complicated than just "pay him what he wants"! If Jamie wants to talk about formations, passing accuracy etc etc, then fine........but the fact that he once played pro football does not make him an authority on football finances.

The one thing a pundit said this weekend that i do agree with is Martin Samuel who said if we do sell him we shouldn't be solving the defensive problems of our rivals as we did when we sold Walker to City

The nutmeg is an effective way of getting past a player when faced up it's pure skill and Dele has mastered it..he shouldn't be victimised because it works.

This season his productivity on assist and general build up play has been great he is becoming a better footballer ...ok he hasn't scored as much but he does still chip in with a decent amount of goals.

I love the way Dele plays, he is so care free with that rawness about the way he plays not many players that get you off your seat (other than watching pure speed) I hope idiots and pundits ain't given the platform to knock that out of him.

He gets into so much dangerous areas on the field other players can't cope with he's movement so foul tug wind him up. To many righteous pundits holy as thou make a point to highlight any falls. The referees have to do much more to protect him and other players like him...the same was levelled at Ginola Bale etc

I’ve nothing against the nutmeg this season as his success rate has improved and who doesn’t love it when it comes off?

Paul Merson survives pretty much on talking like the man in the street. Good luck to the guy, he has six kids, two ex-wives and a current wife to support with his alcohol- and drugs-ravaged body and what's left of his never-too-academic brain and having gambled most of his money away. As we all know, the man on the street knows fuck-all, and Merse plays to type, but he just talks and watches the money come in. I don't mind Merse, he should be treated with the disdain he deserves but he's almost like a court jester. Pat the guy on the head, give him a biscuit then get on with your day.

Redknapp has no such excuse - everything handed on a plate, dad is everyone's mate in the industries (football and media), his uncle was a manager too, his brother and cousin both players, offered youth terms with Spurs said no to play for his dad in Bournemouth, swanned around in a Liverpool side he had no right to be in, then somehow got made captain of Spurs when he was way past being good enough to be (and was injured all the time anyway), allowed to do coaching badges at Chelsea yet couldn’t be arsed with management, been given failed TV show after failed TV show just because he looks good on TV. He's football's equivalent of a Tory politician – his entire life was built to make him that way, and then he gets there, and THIS is what he does with it?

If you actually pay attention to what Jamie Redknapp says, rather than just gloss over him, he is an appalling, appalling pundit, despite being pretty much handed the tools to be a good one. Whereas Merson is doing the best with what he has.

I dislike Jamie Redknapp a lot more than Paul Merson. The fact that you'll find more compliments about Spurs coming from Merson, who was a big player for our biggest rival, than Redknapp, who somehow captained our beloved side.

Makes my skin crawl that Redknapp captained Spurs. The guy's a charlatan. He was a bang average player and he's a bang average pundit.

Either way, neither's opinion is worth anything.

agree totally on Redknapp.

the facile nonsense you get from some so called pundits is just so boring and repetitive - you get a narrative and then it goes on a perpetual loop. Every single time, Kane scores a winner we get a good result (Madrid, Juve etc etc), the only thing they can think of saying is ....will Poch go, Kane, wages.......trophies.....when the big boys come.

FFS try and say something original.

If/when we do win a trophy, it will the conversation will immediately be about wages structure and the big boys knocking.

90% of them are just lemmings incapable of independent thought or anything original

Soccer Saturday idiots were discussing Dembele and Alderweireld today. Charlie Nicholas is a moron, said that if Pochettino rated Dembele so highly then how come he didn’t play him that often. No mention that only reason he doesn’t start is because of fitness issues.

Thompson then claimed that our defence improved solely because we signed Alderweireld, said Vertonghen was there for years and didn’t look great before. I think most fans who watch regularly realise that Vertonghen has looked at least Toby’s equal and has massively improved in last 2 seasons.

Don't let it stress you out, these are the words of a 56 year old man who wears a diamond earring for gods sake, and a man who looks like he has a flaccid horse penis strapped to his face.
Mature men with earrings...............No...just no!!!

I always think other pundits from other sports like golf, cricket and tennis are so much better but maybe its because I know less about those sports then football

I enjoy watching cricket but only really follow England in big tournaments and Ashes but the commentators seem so much more knowledgeable then football pundits
