Jamie Redknapp on the VAR thing:
It doesn't matter if the handball is intentional or unintentional, that's the law now but it is such a harsh decision. What I find amazing is that not one Tottenham player complains or looks at the referee. It's just that feeling of losing the game and there's nothing you can do.

I have no idea why he's so amazed that none of the players complained or "look(ed) at the referee". It wasn't the kind of thing you'd expect a player to notice, unless they had eyes like a shitehawk and were stood around ball watching in the 92nd minute of the game.

It's because that's what he would do the useless turd.

I read one pundit saying " Levy gambled with Eriksen and must now pay the price " where do these journalists come from and I use the word journalist loosely . Levy is the most pragmatic person and does not do gambling.
He was put in a position completely out of his control he started two years ago to try to get the man to sign but he was adamant that he wanted to go to Madrid and refused to sign a new deal and for the life of me I cannot see where the gamble was.
For redtop reporters ( read ) dipsticks .

Gambled is a ridiculous word to use. You only have two choices when a player of Eriksen's quality decides he won't sign a new contract, sell or play. Money clearly isn't Eriksen's priority, he wants to emulate Michael Laudrup in Spain and he will only leave if Barca or Madrid come in for him. So far none have done so, but they might well do if he becomes a free agent next summer.

It's Eriksen who is gambling, not Levy.

Paul Merson:

"They are out of the title race already, five points behind Liverpool with three games played. That may sound harsh, but would you back Spurs to win the league over Liverpool if Liverpool had a five-point head start?

People go on and on about there being 35 games left but I'm fed up with that rhetoric, five points is a lot of points to make up. As a general rule, it takes five games to make up five points, Liverpool lost once last season and have won every game so far this, so where are Spurs going to bridge the gap?"

Don’t know what’s so funny he usually talks rubbish but he has hit the nail on the head here ... we have no chance for the title .... top 4 will be a huge struggle playing the way we are ! 16 points in 15 pl games !

Yep, 5 points in 35 matches can't be make up. When we are playing 2x Liverpool. Our season is over.

You know times are bad when you agree with the likes of Merson and Cundy slagging us off! Hopefully all this negativity will be turned to a positive at the weekend. I expect the media will be full of them being expected to batter us.

Why do you listen to the likes of Merson / Cundy / Wright /Nicholas / Smith / Thompson / they all have agendas and it is definitely not in favour of all things Tottenham. They are praying to the heavens that spurs miss out on the top four. For myself missing out on the top four is a possibility this year as we seem to be in transition if not limbo because of the Eriksen situation plus the Alerwereild and Verthongen conundrum .They will wet their pants with joy if we miss out on the top four and for that reason alone my dearest wish is that we make the top four again this year. Am I alone in having confidence that Poch will sort things out and I still have optimism that things will be OK . MY reason for optimism is Sessegnon / D Celso /Ndombele / Parrot / Tanganga / I also believe that Foyth will come good at right back . Also I cannot remember being exited by our start to the season for many years our start for me is par for the course
I trust poch COYS.

Why anyone would think that someone like Jason Cundy or Paul Merson have an opinion that is worthy of their investment is absolutely beyond me. There are lots of people in the world who actually have interesting things to say about football - whereas they are both mentally subhuman.

Yup. Anyone who thinks we have even the remotest chance of winning the league is massively deluded. 3rd place is our ceiling atm.

How can people not see it’s not about the 5 point gap !!! It’s about how we are playing jeeeeeeez !!
100%. If we'd peppered Newcastle goal with shots and great fast play and hit the post 3 times, i wouldn't be that worried, but that wasn't the case and hasn't been the case. We've been playing absolutely shocking football, I could see from fairly early on, on Sunday that it was unlikely we would score unless it was from a long shot or slice of luck. Absolutely devoid of ideas in the final 3rd.

Your logic is a bit off here. Thinking we are not in the title race is fair enough and likely true.

But Merson saying gaining 5 points on a team over 35 games is a big ask is completely ridiculous.

I quite like it when they rule us out of everything. I rather stay under the radar and just get the job done.
Sniffy has done his part, we just need to do ours

We have to play liverpool. 'IF' we beat Liverpool its 2 points.

We took a point from the alleged best team the PL has ever seen on their turf. I didn't hear Merson blabbering last weekend that we were title contenders.

Calm the F**k down its August.

That is not a declaration we are going to win the league bit ffs ITS AUGUST!!!
