Gary Neville now saying title race could be Jose vs Lampard, he changes his mind every week.

Used to like him but he's actually quite clueless, Carragher is a better pundit.

I thought he was a breath of fresh air when he first started as he didn't tend to follow narratives, was fair in his assessments and also picked up stuff others didn't see.

However, last couple of years he's started to say a few silly things and his commentary suffers when United are on or are involved in the conversation.

Like saying we can't win the league but in the same discussion gave reasons why we could win the league.

Carragher is not too bad, it's just when he commentates Liverpool and has to bring them into each conversation when they shouldn't even be part of.

With Neville, I do wonder if Liverpool being on top and United struggling is blurring his thoughts slightly. Hes said United were on their way to getting back on top and only being 2 or players away from challenging again about 4 times now.

They are both good, informative and knowledgeable pundits. They’ve both got experience in the modern game unlike say Souness Etc. They should be kept away from Liverpool and United games though as they have massive blind spots when it comes to their own team.

I think Tim Cahill on MOTD has been really impressive as a pundit, I like Danny Murphy too and Owen Hargreaves, M.Richards is improving too. Neville and Carragher are decent but like you said blined by their own teams bias.

Roy Keane and Evra combo is the worst. Keane is just negative about everything and Evra is just depressed about man.u lol.

You’re right Souness lacks the modern game experience but he still knows his stuff, I’ve met him a few times and he’s a really top top bloke, think he gets a lot of unfair stick on his punditry. He’s quite fond of Spurs.

I have to admit, the crew on the NBC shows are pretty fair to Spurs. It is nice to see.

Arlo White, Robbie Earl, Rebecca Lowe, Tim Howard, and Lee Dixon on match days actually give Jose a lot of credit and constantly praise Hojbjerg, Son, and Kane. Their only concerns with Spurs is injuries in the future to slow us down.

It is a breathe of fresh air after listening to Talksport or Skysports News and hearing only Liverpool are true contenders.

I think Owen Hargreaves and Micah Richards for me unfortunately fall into the fucking hopeless category, constantly repeating the clueless narrative and offering absolutely no tactical insight.

From what I've seen of him I quite like Leon Osman, but Tim Cahill is good too.

Normally these types of things don't bother me, but I was mildly irritated by Shearer on MOTD last Saturday.

Linekar asks Shearer after the City highlights, are Spurs title contenders? Shearer's answer: Well, this year it is a very weird league, and you have to say that with all the injuries and things to Liverpool (lists them out), and other teams not firing on all cylinders, they are in with a shout if they do this, that, and the other.

Next game is the Newcastle v Chelsea game. After the highlights, Linekar asks Shearer, are Chelsea (managed of course by Lampard, who hasn't won a thing) title contenders? Shearer's answer: Yes, definitely.

Why with the players and coach that we have does it have to be a weird league with teams at a significant disadvantage for us to win the thing? Yet apparently, a team with a coach who hasn't won a thing are "definitely" in with a shout.

I agree, I wouldn't discount Chelsea of course, but Frank Lampard hasn't got the experience of Jose. I think that's a major advantage we have over Chelsea.

What I do find a little off is the media making a big deal of Liverpool winning despite their injury crisis but completely neglecting to mention that Leicester are similarly suffering.

But if we did, the stick we will get beaten with will be 'yeah, but it was a disrupted season: covid/no fans/Man Utd, Arsenal, (possibly City) were below par'

Either way, its a bit pathetic to lord it up with hindsight or down play an achievement because it didn't suit your agenda.
They will, but the reply (which no-one in the media will give, of course) should be: 'so, your contention is that Spurs are somehow insulated from the effects of the disrupted season - everyone suffered except Spurs, which is why they won the title?'

I think it's understandable objectively. I think it's fair that Tottenham is the underdog for now.

I’m all for that!

But my point isn’t that Leicester are getting a raw deal from the media. Rather, my point is that talking up Liverpool’s injury problems while ignoring Leicester’s is just another way of blowing smoke up Liverpool’s arse.
Oh, for sure. Absolutely. I just wanted to say "fuck 'em" to Leicester... :D

Even though I have a large group of Leicester-based and Leicester-supporting friends! :cautious:

Each to their own but I think Hargreaves is really knowledgeable, Richards isn't as tactical but he's funny and good banter so its good to have a mix of styles.
