I love that we get dismissed, it takes the pressure off the players in the media, and it can be used as a motivational tool behind closed doors.

In my opinion I think it's unlikely but you never know. We have as good a chance as most
It hasnt worked though has it?

We get dismissed because it will be nearly 9 years since we last won a trophy

Until we prove the media wrong, our fans cant moan about us not been included as one of the big teams

Agree with this. Not meaning to demean our excellent start but the early fixture list has been rather kind. Everton away has been our toughest fixture.
Man city?
Liverpool?
Not been a tough start but it's not exactly been a walk in the park.

Man City and Liverpool were home fixtures. We're a very good team and every home game where 3pts isn't obtained should be regarded as lost points.

Away is a different matter. Champion's generally win the title on their away form. Everton are a decent side. So Everton away is a tougher fixture than any home fixture IMO.

We're a top team now, If we're playing well, with confidence we'll beat most teams top or bottom, or get a draw when we're not, so the fixture list is a bit irrelevant unless we're playing away after champs league.

So many managers in the past have talked about changing the mindset of the club, i think that has happened under Poch and i believe the players expect they can win every game.

I can't remember the last time i thought we might get beat, that's a pretty good feeling to have.

So if we beat Bournemouth tomorrow and don't concede we will have the best defensive record in Europe, be unbeaten still in one of the world's toughest leagues if not the world's toughest league AND we will be top of the league (even if it is only for a short while.)

Yeah so...I couldn't give a toss what pundits say basically.

But it's only been the last year or so that we've had a side capable of being included in the conversation.

We're not underdog to anyone home or away in the pl, which is what Poch is drilling into the players head.

It's funny. In the lead up to the Citeh game, I read journos proclaiming far and wide that we had had an easy start to the season. They never mentioned Citeh's start at all. The fact was, we had played three of the then top 7 in our six games, and after the Citeh game it would be four of the current top seven. Yeah, real easy start. Citeh, on the other hand, prior to our match, had played five teams in, I think, the bottom six. The only team they had played of any significance at all was United. After our game, they had played five of the bottom six, us and United in seven games - and we absolutely did play them off the park. If you want to take the significance of home fixtures into account, Liverpool came to the Lane...as an unstoppable force, installed by the bookies as second favourites for the league; Citeh came to the Lane as overwhelming favourites to everyone apart from those with Spurs connections, the bookies were offering 21/10 against us winning...in a home match!!! That should tell you how much everyone but us was expecting being at home to be an advantage. Perspective!?!

You could add that the Baggies away, for its own reasons, is a really tough fixture in its own right. So, actually, I think we've had a pretty tough start. The fact that we haven't played the Sky Four and Liverpool/Citeh (whichever you choose to exclude from the current Sky Four) away does not take away from that one iota. Liverpool's start may have been a little tougher...but the refs are doing everything to ameliorate that effect (and unlike us their defence has been exposed).

Everton away was a very tough first game. I said after the match that we will look back on it as a good point. They have since travelled to the Etihad and held Citeh. As an aside, I am still convinced that if the free-kick that was allowed to drift into our net had come a little later in that match, or in any other match this season, we would have been alert to it. Still, we finished the game on the front foot.

Today's performance is why pundits write us off so easily

What? Because we earned a hard fought draw away from home against a pretty decent and very hard working team, after playing away from home in the CL against a very hard working team, despite dominating possession, shots, shots on target stats, preserving our undefeated record, the only undefeated record in the top flight, while having something of an injury/suspension crisis?

Presumably, the same pundits believe ArseAnal ARE title contenders because they have somehow survived at home against Middlesborough (so far) after playing at home in the CL against (to borrow a Wet Spam phrase) a team of fecking farmers, after being gifted six points by the officials already this season and not having quite so much of an injury/suspension crisis?

Certain Spurs fans have gotten the rest of us a reputation among other fans because they believe we have a Gawd given right to win every game 17 nil. That's why punditfans think we are wank-puffins (y)

Very good point. We are used to being burnt out and on the end of a spanking after any midweek European game.
A draw away against a buoyant team then is rather an improvement.

If you don't understand why games like this and West Brom need to be won to be considered genuine contenders then no further explanation will help.

So I suppose Liverpool losing at Burnley rules them out of contention. So we have that going for us...

And Man Utd dropping points to Stoke and City dropping points last week against Everton at home etc..

Guess no-one's a contender for the title this season :)
