For all the slagging, flip-flopping and back-tracking in the face of great play from Neville yesterday, his Podcast today was complimentary of us. If still holding the same view that whilst we're going to be entertaining to watch and better than the dross of the past few years.. it's still going to be bonkers and we'll concede a lot whilst scoring a lot.

he see's what his united tinted glasses want him to see. He wants to believe there is a reason they can still finish above us. He forgets before the injuries and suspensions we had the best defensive record in the league and had played liverpool, united and arsenal.

I've cherry picked a few lines uttered by the Spurs hating Gary Neville on Spurs, who, let's remember, he hates (according to thankfully only a few on SC  ).

There is an element of madness, but also an element of brilliance about how Spurs play. Ange Postecoglou has only had a very limited amount of time with these players and actually he's got five or six of his best players missing that would be playing, so to have them playing like that just a few months shows courage.

They'll drive you nuts in some games but in others you'll think they're the best team to watch in the league and you want a Spurs game every single week because it is exciting. That is just how I feel at the moment. I'm doing the game next week against Newcastle and I'm already looking forward to it because it will be brilliant but what I would say is I think they will settle

That's how much he hates us.

He really fucking hates us. No, no, he really does. Never says anything positive, the contempt literally oozes from each word :D

Gary Neville hates us. If anyone really thinks that then they just should not be taken seriously. What a complete load of festering, piss soaked bullshit.

Issue I had yesterday was that all of the commentators and pundits after the game had all decided that City had dropped their level, become complacent and that's the sole reason Spurs got a draw. Utter bollocks.

Second half we were very good I thought. Massively upped our game and by making the Hojbjerg change meant they couldn't just break through us at will. It sured us up defensively but meant we had a deeper man to help build up play.

It wasn't man city becoming complacent, it was us being far better second half and actually giving them something to think about.

Plenty of credit was given to how we played. They did bang on about City but what do you expect? Them to whop their cocks out and thrash around the studio waxing lyrical about Spurs? ;)

The city thing is a fair enough topic and the question was being asked given their recent results too. It doesn't mean anything

And there's the problem, we're too fragile about this stuff. But I know i'm farting against thunder here and not many people will agree, but I think people expect too much, take stuff way to literally and are far too easily offended by it. It's all generally fairly balanced stuff. It's a thing that in the scheme of things ought to be fuck all and I just don't understand it :(

I dont think people are being too precious at all.

Its just predicabtle and funny.

Listening to Neville change his tune every 30 seconds was hilarious.

One minute we're suicidal and naive next we're brave and brillant.

And then to summarise in those post match comments he covers his arse by almagamating both schools of thoughts lol

Honestly hilarious 😂

I'm not fragile or offended. Not sure what you're on about to be honest.

Just merely giving my view that for me all the pundits on Sky yesterday clearly felt that we got back into because City stopped playing. Which I disagree with.

If you disagree with that, that's fine.

Well obviously I wasn't talking about just you specifically. And 'clearly' nothing, they offered up both points of view and said how much better we were in the second half, so yeah, I disagree (y)

FWIW Neville has seemed a little less pro Spurs this season for whatever reason, sure he paid us some compliments yesterday in his post match analysis but in-game he was erring more towards criticising our approach than praising us tbh, he’s also just generally imo been a worse pundit this season overall.

Not just yesterday where as A&C says he said things both ways about us but a lot of us have had the sense that this season he has tended to jump at the chance to criticise us where possible, just a feeling many of us had but it’s no biggie, at the end of the day who gives a fuck about what Gary Neville thinks really, it’s more maybe commentary fatigue and his voice and commentary are generally a bit grating over time and he’s getting a bit too big for his boots but I’d take listening to him over quite a few others on sky who are absolutely clueless.

However when you compare Neville to say Ally McCoist on TNT etc, McCoist is a breath of fresh air and much more enjoyable to listen to and imo TNT’s coverage is way better, more interesting, balanced and insightful than Sky Sports.

The difference is Ally McCoist’s glass is half full. Neville’s is 3/4 empty.

The difference is we're on the right path and United arent.

Dont let that cloud your judgement though Gary 😂

Agree, McCoist is a likeable bloke with a sense of humour but Neville comes across as a miserable sod.
It's nothing personal against us, it's just his personality shining through his commentary.

Neville is just being honest, and he’s not saying anything that’s particularly controversial about us. We will concede lots of goals, but we’ll also score lots of goals. I think that’s been priced into the plan by Ange.

IMO Neville is the best pundit on tv when he’s not talking about United who he has a clear and understandable love for. I’m pretty sure I’d not be able to be objective about Spurs if I’d won several titles playing for the club. I don’t always agree with what he says, but he’s usually informative. Carragher too.

The other match day pundits on Sky can get in the bin though.

Neville is doing his best this season cosplaying a Gooner, which I think makes it hard to give us the credit that we deserve in a lot of cases.

Just woefully premature banging on with the "naive" line, expecting us to get tonked before that "naive" approach ultimately being what got us the share of the points, but sadly very predictable with the current state of old-boys commentary. He's a lot better doing analysis after he's had a bit of time to calm down and think about things in retrospect rather than warble-garbling half-formed shite out on the fly. Still prefer Carragher on the whole out of the strange Football-Ant-and-Dec thing they have going on. He's the Ant, I suppose.

I think Carragher has gone past him.

Imo anyway.
