When you see videos of him he always seems to play nice passes and also the pass to Soldado for the penalty against Seattle was a great pass and one that none of our players did to Soldado last season.

The amount of players that look good for mid/lower table teams and can't make the grade at Top 4-6 level are high and Rose is one of them. I didn't think he looked great under AVB (in fact i don't think he's ever looked any good in a Spurs shirt), he just had less pressure on him as we played a more contained (albeit boring from an attacking perspective) game style.

IMO Davies is in the mould that Shaw was this time last year and i expect that we might see similar results under Poch with him this season.

The thing is that the same could be said of davies looked good in a struggling defence. The thing is he wasn't like Shaw i.e. streets ahead of the team in against the top teams and playing in a top team. That said rose was streets ahead of the sunderland team(though it wasn't as strong as the southampton team).

Agr Davids was suggesting that Swansea weren't too fussed as they rate taylor higher if he could get past the mental issues with his injury.

The point is that if you sell rose we still only have one LB like last season

So I up this thread again.

THe problem clearly spotted by Poch and the club. Waaay too much players. I fear that could be the main reason we won't push for MM and MS. That would be mad.

We need to make room. If Dawson don't want to leave loan out Fryers and sell Chiriches. I'd be sorry for Vlad but I prefer MM and JV at the back. Eric Dier looked decent as well.

I don't think it is easy to find a new home for BAE. If the Yedlin rumours are true and he joins in January we should keep Naughton around until January as Walker isnt fit. But loan Fredericks.

In CM there is the biggest work for me. Capoue, Bentaleb, Schneiderlin, Mason, Sandro with Holtby if needed is for me the best balanced midfield, means we have to sell Dembele and Paulinho. Don't know if that is easy. Loan out or sell Carroll as well, he won't see too much minutes here and with Winks the next talent is there.

In the offense I wouldn't do anything. No sells, no loans, nothing. Holtby/Eriksen, Lamela/ Chadli, Townsend/ Lennon + Ceballos and Soldado/ Adebayor + Kane is decent enough for me. Let them gel.

Friedel; Fredericks, Dier, Fryers, Assou-Ekottu; Veljkovic, Carroll; Dembele, Paulinho, Ceballos; Kane.

And that does not include the likes of Khumalo and Obika, or players already on loan such as Archer and Pritchard.

The depth is impressive, but when deciding who to part with the phrase much of a muchness does come to mind.

I'm really torn about this. I think we're too keen to destroy the work that was done last summer, which was to create a big squad with lots of competition for places...

Sell/loan-out whoever we can. I think that's what we are doing anyway.

As far as I am concerned all the debate about who to play in midfield/defence is nice but doesn't make or break us.

We have a lot of squad players all of whom can contribute but none have the edge to be consistently essential. We are basically abit like Man U. Not enough quality where it matters.

We need to focus on getting the best of and managing our key players, and to bring up potential winners. IMO that essentially boils down to:

Key Players:
Keeping Lloris interested.
Getting Vert to perform consistently.
Get Eriksen on the ball.
Motivate Ade.

Potential winners:
Keep Lamela healthy and get him on the ball to see what he could do.
Give Soldado an opportunity and feed him early balls.
Give Kane/Bentlab as many games as possible and see if they grow.

I think once Poch establishes his aims with each individual he just needs to set his team up to do the above. I think focusing on individuals is more important than talking about tactics etc. We need to get more from the players.

I can only assume that Poch has already discounted Obika and Kumalo as they're down on the website as development squad even though they count as over 21.

We need to lose 5 then, which for me will be BAE, Kumalo, Obika, Fredericks and one of Mason or Carroll. The latter two deals being loans.

The problem is if you have 25, 8 have to be home grown. Your suggestions of shipping out Dawson, Fryers and Kane all exacerbate an existing problem - we 're short on HGs.

Yeah I get that and don't see Kane going anyhow. If Daws went, Bentaleb is u21 so we'd simply have to register Mason as a HG player and keep on periphery or he might prove himself in training and can reevaluate in January. We've only got 15 foreign players, so allows us 2 more.
