What will you do if Bale is sold?

Will you shrug your shoulders and accept it?

Will you naively think we can replace him with all that lovely cash? (We can't BTW. We will just buy more players in the 'just below the top' bracket. We have PLENTY of those)

Will you protest in a season ticket burning rage outside the ground with a burning Levy voodo doll?

Will you flap about, call Levy every name under the sun, but not take any meaningful action to show that it is not acceptable?

IMO, Berbatov, Modric, Carrick, they were all different scenarios, good players, but we got the right money for them, and that was that. Bale is a different kettle of fish.

He is one of the best players in the world and still in his early twenties.

He is a global face for football.

A global face for the club for years to come.

100 million is not enough for what he can do for us if we keep him for for 7-10 years. He has the potential to be the best player we have had in the last 20 years.

I've suffered us through the dreadful times, and put up with some bullshit in too many transfer windows, but I think selling Bale would be the ultimate Levy kick in the teeth to our fans. One that would cement a currently mild belief, that money has become more important to the board than the fans of the club. He was genuinely the only thing worth going to Spurs for for most of last season. We huffed and puffed for results, and then Bale did something incredible. No one else had any entertainment value. (Well Freund, bless him)

Selling Bale would leave me intensely disillusioned with being a Tottenham supporter for the first time in my life. It would be the first time that I would think, we are content as an also ran, instead of one who was striving to retake it's place among giants. A scary thought.

The club is bigger than one player regardless of how outstanding he is.
I'd be annoyed but if the money is lots, I will not blame the club for selling. No one is irreplaceable.

But next time you ask a question why not leave out the part where you call others naive for not sharing your onion. Thanks ;)

I'll be furious.

There's no reason to sell him. We are constantly reminded that Levy has kept the club in excellent financial health so to sell him would purely be for greed.

We're on the verge of assembling another good side and Bale is crucial to making it tick.

He's also, after selling Modric and VDV last year, the only really creative player we've got left.

If he goes then I'll have lost all faith that we've got an ambitious board.

It's not that hard. You just say no. Bale will still perform next season. He's not the type to sulk.

We have approximately a 0% chance in keeping him for 5-7 years. We are not <insert name of super club here> and even then that doesn't mean that the player will still stay e.g Ronaldo, Fabregas, Robben etc...

The most important thing is the stadium, and even then we will have to accommodate the debt for a certain number of years. Arsenal bought a new stadium, and they still sold their best players after it was built.

I'm not being optimistic, I'm just being realistic. We are Tottenham Hotspur, not Manchester United.

"No one is irreplaceable"

Unless you can prize Ronaldo from Real Madrid then I'd say Bale is pretty irreplaceable.

He scored or made so many of our goals last season. Hate to think where'd we'd have finished without him.

Bale's combined goals/assists was one less than Adebayor's combined the season before.

People often fail to realise that Arsenal didn't buy big expensive players as they are effectively doubling down on debt everytime they bought new players. I'm not sure why they hold a stack of cash, when they still have some debt to pay, I'm one who believes in paying off your Mortgage!!! But we're not in that scenario. Bale is already a Spurs player!!!

The big diff with RVP, was that he was 29, and only had one injury free season in his life. Fabregas, a different story, but he has hardly torn up tree's since, and wasn't in Bale's Class.

We're in a pretty unique position. We have a tremendous asset. Do we cash in, or take a chance in order to try and do what football teams play for....i.e WIN THINGS!

Again, I don't suppose Bale has a say in matters does he?

Bale will be sold, I doubt it's this summer going by our recent history but when a player makes his mind up to leave, they get their way in the end. Live with it.

I'd be interested to try and test that by rerunning the season with two or three star players in place of Bale. I'd argue that if we had three players in the 30-35 million bracket in place of Bale we would have finished at least in the top four.

We can't replace him with like-for-like but we couldn't with Modric and VDV either. With that money we bought Lloris, Vertonghen and Dembele and we got our record Prem points total.

I'd rather keep him but we are going in a good direction.

In a team that was far inferior in the final third.

Modric and VDV were massive losses. Defoe and Adebayor were toilet. Dempsey and Siggy nicked goals but did little else of note.

Emigrate.

Seriously. I must have told at least 20+ people that Bale will definitely not be leaving and I just can't hack them all them coming up to me and laughing.

Thanks. That mighty fine of you. :) In return I'll not tell you how ridiculous I think you are.

Yep, your right, we're going to sell him, and buy 4 title winners for 25 million a piece, paying 200 grand a week each, and they will all be massive successes who settle instantly, offering unseen amounts of local charitable work, in addition to being on the cover of Pro Evo, Fifa 15,16,17,18, winning the golden boot, the golden gloves despite none being a keeper, and getting 1,2,3 in the Ballon D'or.

Then your going to turn off your Ipad edition of Football manager and realise this is real life.
