(Mods - Sorry but I can't find the old thread on this subject - please feel free to merge if you can!)
I was wondering if people's opinions on this subject had changed in the last month, given recent developments.

In response to the original thread I said that I would probably burst into tears. How right I was! I was in the Barracuda Pub in Middlesbrough last week when this Spurs fan started chatting to me. I was wearing a signed Berbatov shirt, so obviously the conversation quickly turned to Dimitar.

"It's a shame he's gone isn't it?"
"What???? He hasn't has he?"
"Yes, this morning, £27.5 million to United"

At that point I did the wobbly chin thing and then to my horror, and even more to his, burst into tears! Not just an escaping tear - real crying!

He then had to grovellingly apologise and admit that this wasn't true at all and that he was just joking. Just to reassure you, I am a woman, but I was tempted to give him a shiner.

However, after all the trauma and upset of this last week, I can honestly say that I now hope we sell him, preferably abroad, alternatively to the Mancs for £30 million +.

And this time I won't burst into tears, it's all been far too painful. I will put my shirt away and not wear it again, I will treasure the memories and be grateful for the fact he played for us for two beautiful years.

On my next trip to Tottenham I will go to the shop, buy the new shirt, and leave the back blank until someone else can sweep me off my feet!

How will you react?

"Who is Berbatov?"

"Why was this godfather figure so disrespectful"

"Maybe you'll get married, maybe you wont, Maybe you will have kids, maybe you wont".

"Apply suncream"

What was that song?

One of the side products of the way that Daniel Levy has handled this whole dreadful situation is that even those of us who were initially devastated at the thought of Berba going are now quite relieved - so as long as we do get the £30 million - hats off to him.

'Big 4' = G-d-like power, completely above the law, above reproach. We all know that on some level, and if we ever forget it all we need to do is watch SSN. It's terrible but true...

As for Berbs leaving...I shall sigh with relief and make ready the I-told-you-so's for when he starts whimpering and sulking about a 'dream move' to Real Madrid.

TBH, Keane's move was much more emotional for me. Berbs is a mercenary who could give a fuck about Spurs or the fans, but I (apparently wrongly) thought Keane was different.

exactly, no matter how much money we get we will have sorted out united at their greatest need position, weakened us at our strongest position (pre-Keane out), allowed the to blatantly tap up and proven that a contract signed with spurs is one way - it protects the player but in no wiseprtcts the club.
