(Mods - Sorry but I can't find the old thread on this subject - please feel free to merge if you can!)
I was wondering if people's opinions on this subject had changed in the last month, given recent developments.
In response to the original thread I said that I would probably burst into tears. How right I was! I was in the Barracuda Pub in Middlesbrough last week when this Spurs fan started chatting to me. I was wearing a signed Berbatov shirt, so obviously the conversation quickly turned to Dimitar.
"It's a shame he's gone isn't it?"
"What???? He hasn't has he?"
"Yes, this morning, £27.5 million to United"
At that point I did the wobbly chin thing and then to my horror, and even more to his, burst into tears! Not just an escaping tear - real crying!
He then had to grovellingly apologise and admit that this wasn't true at all and that he was just joking. Just to reassure you, I am a woman, but I was tempted to give him a shiner.
However, after all the trauma and upset of this last week, I can honestly say that I now hope we sell him, preferably abroad, alternatively to the Mancs for £30 million +.
And this time I won't burst into tears, it's all been far too painful. I will put my shirt away and not wear it again, I will treasure the memories and be grateful for the fact he played for us for two beautiful years.
On my next trip to Tottenham I will go to the shop, buy the new shirt, and leave the back blank until someone else can sweep me off my feet!
How will you react?
