What's our best chance of CL qualification?

This is always the problem with threads like this. Realistic EXPECTATION! We are not, and should not expect to be looking at CL qualification. We should however be focusing on at least maintaining the equilibrium, Europa league and a 5th/6th place. If by some chance, we do make CL it will be with a great deal of fortune attached. If we buy in January the necessary players, then we increase our chances.

with the performances of Liverpool and City in the CL so far, we will need to beat 1 of those teams in the EL, and at the moment i cannot see us doing anything to get CL footy next season

We have no realistic chance of getting in the CL this season - we'll never win the Europa and I can't see us sneaking top four

We've got too many holes in our squad - some have to go and be replaced and then the manager and players need time to gel and develop into a force again

We've missed our window of opportunity to compete and we need to rebuild again and hope to emulate and surpass our past successes - long road ahead

This season at best we can get a lucky domestic cup run but I can't see us making the final of either to be honest

I'd expect us to end up without any silverware and top 7

We wont buy the neceessary players which is why we Havent made it back in after the one season blip when we did.
Our purchases are average at best and we await a decent striker about five years too late lets face it We aint going to do or win shit.

On the one hand the League is stronger than ever and it's going to be tough to finish in the top 4. On the other hand the Europa League offers up some extremely tough away games and then the Champions League teams join the competition later on.

I personally think winning the Europa League would be our best chance.

Our best chance to get into the CL is if everything north of Nottingham got washed away in a tsunami

That isn't a chance at all because we have no chance of signing Cavani and Pjanic. If we're living in the realm of 'ain't gonna happen' then buying Ronaldo and Messi would give us a better chance of qualifying for the CL.

we are 7/2 to finish in top 4 of the Premier League

so basically we have 4 times more chance of finishing in the top 4 as we have of winning the Europa League but it's long odds on we achieve neither

Because we can't sign cavani and pjanic? That is an incredible leap of logic. There is a myriad of other players we can't sign too. Does every player we can't sign mean we can't get cl?

Oh surely you can't be THAT ignorant thinking that everyone here will think mathematically about the odds. It would seem that quite a few people could do with being informed as they think it will be easier to win Europa and so I'm presenting a case against that. And I'm not sure how it can only be the work of a 12 year old.
