Danny Rose, lack of creativity and pace....

I have now seen 3 of the last four games (Espanyol, Tibilis and swans), and it is beyound me, how people can be that critical and nervous....

First of all, we have to forget last season, although this is AVB's second season, this is first where he truly can set his hallmark in terms of players and philosophy, last season he worked his magic, with what he was handed by levy, and in any other season's it would have been enough to get that CL, this year he get's what i want and need by levy and will surley work his magic once again (yeah i'am a AVBeliever)

Now to the 3 topics above.....

Danny Rose, no doubt he's defensively quality is lacking, but he more then makes up for it in speed/pace, he is ecatly what we need on left back, and is doing the job good and can only see him getting better. All he has to do, is going forward and keep thretning down the flank, makeing the pitch wide, and allow Chadli or who ever on the left to cut in side... We have Lloris acting as a "sweeper", and capoue/paulinho dropping down, allowing Daws/verts spread out wide and cover for rose/walker, and when the shit hits the fan, they have the pace to get back and with the backup from CB's we stand firm even though, we don't have the most defensively sound back's......

The creativity "problems", is because AVB haven't found his playmaker to feed Soldado,
Siggy still being played out of pos, so he is clearly not his man
Holtby on his way back, maybe the guy, he has been in the team for some while now, and have had the time to adapt, so i can see him as the guy, untill who ever we bring in before the TW is shut, and then only time will tell....

The pace, come on guys, 2 games into the season with a new team, that need time to adapt to, not only new players but also a new leauge. Have you ever seen a 4 year old, jump on his first bike, and then rush down the street like freaking Lance Armstrong ?
Give them time, we DO have the pace in the squad, they just need to get comfortable with each other, and then the pace will surely come down the road, no need to rush things and make stupid mistakes which can coast us points, when you can take it slow and get the wins, the confident as a player, and in each other as a team.

Kind regards

Personally I am please with the team... Juz need that bit of quality bale/vdv use to provide.

Been so impress with Paulie, great on the ball, and really covers a lot of ground to help out both in defense and attack. We have been creating chances. We just need to take them...

Things looking bright for us. But the real test will come against arsenal. Still early days.

That I'm afraid is what large numbers or maybe a vocal minority of our support is like.
What does get me is the "creativity" complaint, last year that consisted of just giving the ball to Bale.
Some fans never allow anytime for new signings to bed either.

We're Spurs, we need to find something to moan at. Even if it doesn't exist.

We'll get the new Stadium with the crazy ass rip off of the Yellow Wall at Dortmund and some daft old coot will moan that it's a bit loud

If it is I will just take my hearing aid out. Bloody youngsters coming on here, giving me a headache.

I largely agree with most of this apart from the 4 year old and the bike; give a 4 year old the drugs that Lance took, them maybe it would fly down the road on a bike, or even without one!

Great post.

The modern day fan are too expectant, unrealistic and want everything perfect, fortunately they're in the minority unfortunately they seem to be the most vocal.

Think we are all singing from the same song sheet - there is a potential of generous dimensions - but we still have areas we can improve upon and with the knowledge that Joe Lewis has opened up his wallet / mega money from Bale sale - we have the ability to fortify in these areas - Creative playmaker(s), added quality to the wings, another LB, another striker.

The team is solid and can dominate the game from the middle - now we certainly need the magic to happen in the attacking 3rd. We have the striker now, so all we really need to work on (if Vlad signs) is turning possession into chances.

You don't fit a Number 10 into 4-3-3.

For now it's clearly 4-2-3-1 in my mind, and don't think AVB is stuck to neither 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1

We look solid in 4-2-3-1 and tranforming a new team to each other and a new formation, is to big of a mouth full, but definitely could se AVB transform the team to 4-3-3 over this and next seaon, but i all comes down to the players available , andt the team we are facing....

Could se him use the cups games and when the team is well played together, the weak teams in EPL to implement the 4-3-3 system, so they get used to it, and comfortable in it, and then see it fully implemented in the next season.....

I love where we are right now. We just need to add a finishing touch here and there and we are rocking. I haven't been this pumped about an upcoming season in years. Just a brilliant time to support THFC. Nice post Jacob!

Fair play to Lance. When I was on drugs I couldn't even find my bike.

People are never happy.... I bet they would have had a field day when we had a team like this -

Walker
Carr Scales Vega Wilson
Fox Nielson Calderwood Sinton
Ginola
Ferdinand

Best squad of players we have had in... well ages and people still moan. Get a grip people and enjoy the football ;) It could be a lot worse

Spot on! empty barrels make the loudest sound, but AVB is making a beautiful symphony, and that takes time....

I can really se the bright future ahead, 2-3 seasons and we are up there as genuine title contenders!

We are on verge of something big the coming years, AVB's vision and philosophy, backed by Lewis's money, Baldinis eye for talent and contacts, and Levys eye for business!

Yeah, the middle of your park can manhandle every team in the leauge, and this season we have the quality and depht, we where missing last....

I love where we are right now. We just need to add a finishing touch here and there and we are rocking. I haven't been this pumped about an upcoming season in years. Just a brilliant time to support THFC. Nice post Jacob!

Me neither!!

I think we're doing great considering how many new players we're bedding in. I'm impressed by how well the defenders are playing together. We're the only PL team not to have conceded a "big chance" as defined by Opta. I think the goals will come as the attackers get used to each other's game. Think about it, I wonder if Moose could even remember the names of all the guys he's supposed to be passing to yet!
