I liked how Neville criticised Giroud last night saying he and Podolski hadn't returned enough in terms of goals and quality and that is why Arsenal have struggled to challenge ni the leage this season. I kept thinking "what about us?" so i looked it up and if they are struggling how are we doing what we are doing???

but assnal has beaten up on the bottom table teams. Scoring 6 goals against Soton and Reading will do a lot to inflate the scoring numbers

The goals for stat will be slightly misleading because Arsenal have stuck 4 or 5 past opponents at times this season, whereas we visibly slow down our attacking efforts when we have a lead. I think we only scored 4 against Villa because it would have been hard not to! We certainly weren't going for it in that game.

Arsenal have bags of attacking potential no doubt, but we have more consistency this season and that has, and always will be, key to getting points in the league.

I'm not that bothered about the number of rounds - clubs like us can fied a weakened team for quite a stretch and those that can't are probably happy to have lots of games to gain the small amounts of revenue and exposure.

I have said, however, on a number of occasions (usually in the Race for 4th thread) that the Europa final is on the Wednesday between our last two league games. It is nice to do well but the CL absolutely dwarfs the Europa and we need to qualify for that as #1 priority. Therefore, should we go all the way then I only hope that we are already safely 4th or higher in the league when we go into the last week....

Is our 4th top scorer that bad you left them off the list

It's remarkable how well we have done really and goes to show were pretty strong in the midfield/defence that scoring goals or not as many as we would like, hasn't hurt us too much.

Oh to have a couple top class strikers.....
