I've been enjoying the last few months since we got fourth- but now where do you think we'll end up next season?
I'm putting my head on the line by saying 2nd could well be in our reach, but I'm voting 3rd as I feel City and Pool are further along in their projects.
Where do you think we'll end up?

Second, got a feeling one of them will have a blip this season whilst their squads adjust to their incomings and outgoings. Henderson and Milner are another year older as well.
Mane is a massive loss and I think Citeh will miss zinchenko and Sterling more than they realise.

The race will be much closer this coming season. It will not be a runaway by City and Pool as the media predict. You may not like to hear this, but Arsenal has bought well, and they too will improve. Man Utd cannot do any worse than they did last season. Chelsea also has a good window. But put everything in the mix I say we will come 3rd. but will have to really fight for it.

Voted 3rd... but I would be happy with 4th as well. I think we will improve our points tally. Maybe 10-15 points more than last season... give it a good go under Conte. I still think the title is too much for us at the moment... but it's going to be so close in the top 6... no room for too many ups and downs ... This season I think we will win a cup ??

3rd. Calling it now with all the new signings and a full Conte pre-season. Not near City and Liverpool yet, but can push for 3rd and be best of the rest.

Arsenal have bought well, but they still need at least one proper central midfield work horse.

Unless Zinchenko slots in there, but he doesn’t seem the type to roll his sleeves up and get stuck in so they still look like they have a soft underbelly.

This is something I’d have aimed at spurs before emergence of Skipp and Bentancur signing as aside from PEH, none of the others were up for the battle in the middle, which massively effected our ability to dominate and see out games.

Will be very interesting to see if Zinchenko slots into the middle and what kinda job he does there - Edu reckons Arteta feels this is kinda player who will fit into team pattern and style they want to play, but still can’t work out of Lego Head is a criminal

Lego head has made some good signings - last summer White, Ramsdale and Tomiyasu were all good additions as is Jesus this window but if they’re still playing Xhaka in midfield on a regular basis… (and Mr Partey-time has been very prone to injuries since switching to the more physical English game then when he was in Spain).

And they really need a proper right back - Soares couldn’t get into Southampton team near end of spell there, Bellenderin was pretty good but injury seems to have curtailed him and Tomiyasu is a utility player and nice to have a proper actual full back in there.

Post ended up much longer than intended! Must miss the gooner thread lol.

Chelsea will spend a load more so really expected should be a fight for 3rd. Obviously with Conte and his record a tiny bit thinks………………….

Torn between second and third, as it stands I´d go for third but perhaps, with one or two additions we´ll be up there to challenge Liverpool. City I think are too far beyond but second could be up for grabs. Throw in one cup too.

This is going to be an extraordinary season with a world cup bang in the middle of it, it´s anyone´s guess how top teams deal with this but for the first time i feel as if our squad has quality and depth to deal well enough with such a major disruption. If we´re up there at the time the WC starts, I feel we´re going to be in a strong position for the second half of the season to maybe even dream of a title challenge.

Still, my vote is a conservative one, i´ll go (and have done so) with third

3rd I reckon, hopefully with Conte now we shouldn’t be losing those games against your Crystal Palace/Southampton/Burnleys/Wolves for example. That’s another 10/15 points if we cut out the stupid results we have over the space of a season. I think Conte gives us that confidence.
City or Liverpool could have a wobble that opens up 2nd, which I hope Liverpool do ?

i omitted Chelsea, just because I think we WILL finish above them. And they are well scummy

We have improved the team and squad, there has been a full pre-season with Conte, so we should expect to improve on last season's finish. I hope we will be in the mix challenging for the top, expect to finish at least 4th and pick up a cup on the way.
Wouldn't that be nice?
And be in pole position to win the PL in 23/24

The Premier League is so good, so many good teams. I don't think we are far away from a year and an EPL where the table goes crazy and 3 teams burst into the top 4 from nowhere and/or the winner in the league only has to get to 80ish points with everyone taking points of each other.

There is definitely some blip potential in Liverpool, Klopp did flame out at Dortmund where they dropped to 7th after years of great finishes in the Bundesliga. I think Liverpool still has enough quality, energy and mystique to avoid a real crash.

We've never seen a Guardiola team crash but he hasn't been at a club 5+ seasons. They got too many good players that he has total control over that will carry out his orders.

I also can't imagine a full season where Conte has a squad with Son, Kane, Romero, Lloris and doesn't get 80 points

80-86 points and either 1st or 2nd. Don't see another season of 90+ from the other 2.

Along with a final/win in either the FA or League Cup and a good showing in the CL.

Our defence has improved under Conte and should we get the shiny new CB it should go up another level. We've improved the midfield and LWB position so attacking wise we should score more goals and we've already seen what that front 3 can do. Add to that the depth we've added behind it in Richarlison and we're in a good place.

Elland road on 28th May?

Honestly, I’m backing us to win it. We probably need another elite CB, but I think we will get one.

3rd, I think we aren't quite at City or Liverpools level yet but we will make progress and be stronger this season. Think Chelsea will be very close with us though, despite some issues during pre season they always seem to find a way to get results.

Don’t want to go over the top but we look to have a hell of a good squad with poss 2 more top players to arrive. CB and attacking mfielder.
We can always score goals and the defence improved considerably the longer the season went. Looking for mid 80 ‘s pointswise. If only one team was way ahead of everybody I think we could maybe catch them. Bit too much to expect both of them to get 10 points less than normal.
I’m going for second place and a domestic trophy. Conte’s record in Europe is poor for a top manager so not expecting too much. I have no doubt his priority will be the league title
