If Leicester keep doing what they're doing and scout players who are perfect for the league and their system they will continue to be up there challenging for a top four place. LIke us theyve proved this season that you don't need to buy big names to challenge the top teams, good scouting is the key.

But we've seen time and again that maintaining that level of performance in the Prem is really difficult.

We've struggled to replace Carrick, Berbatov, Modric and Bale. Over time we have solidified but was doing it with a larger budget than Leicester.

Lets see how Leicester do once Mahrez leave once Vardy loses form etc. I can't see them regularly hitting top four yet.

We struggled to maintain it because we didn't replace adequately. We sold Berbatov and bought Pavlychenko, we sold Carrick and bought Zokora, Modric = Dembele and enough said about the Bale money.

My point is that should Leicester do what they did in the last couple of summers and acquire players who fit their system and style of play then they can put a legitimate challenge IMO.

So if they keep finding players to perform as well as Mahrez and Vardy has this season, who will gel into the team quickly and easily and have no problems then they'll be fine.

Buying a player of the talent of Berbatov, Modric, Bale etc is not easy. If it was we would have done so.

If they keep the likes of Mahrez and Vardy and make clever additions like Okazaki and Kante like they had in the summer to fill out their squad even more then why would they suddenly drop down to mid-table?

If we had kept Berbarov and Modric the same could be said. Its the keeping them that's the hard bit.

Everyone is waiting for Leicester to fall, even their own players are probably wondering when the bubble burst. In my mind there is no world where Mahrez stays this summer, even if they win the league. He will have the largest teams in the world chasing him so why stay?

Vardy will stay but he is going to have a hard time replicating this season really given his age/previous seasons.

Regardless Leicester have still defied the odds remarkably and if they are smart they have guaranteed themselves years in the top flight at a time where it has never been more financially rewarding to play PL football which is no small achievement.

All true but we couldn't keep Berbatov and Modric because we couldn't promise them CL football, of course there's no guarantee that Leicester will repeat their heroics next season but for the time being they can realistically turn down offers for the pair of them and offer a higher wage if needs be.

You're right about Mahrez but I can't see him going anywhere this summer, I think if he repeats this season then there's going to be some serious teams looking at him and he's likely to leave but they bought Mahrez for £400k and although that seems like a one off the addition of Kante proves that they have an eye for talent and could well replace him or if not get another player who is as effective.

Anyway we will see, everyone seems to think that Leicester are up there by fluke but teams like Atletico Madrid have proved that if you get the scouting right then you can be successful and defy the odds, all they've done this season is given themselves a platform to build on.

We'll see but my guess is in 4 years time we'll be looking at a post suggesting Leicester will be a CL for years to come will be seen as one of the most ludicrous ever made.

Stick to your hypotheticals, I'll stick to reality.

That's flatout not true. Neither ever said CL was the reason for them leaving. Modric wanted to go to Chelsea when we were in the CL.

I didn't say I said I think they will challenge the top four next season providing they keep their players and carry on on the same track but you carry on twisting the conversation to suit your argument, it's the 2nd time you've done that but whatever keeps you amused I guess,

You can call it reality all you want but you nor I can predict the future so best leave it there if you're getting all huffy about it. (y)

Chelsea were first interested in Modric when we didn't qualify for the CL in summer 2011 (we finished 5th that season in 2010/11) If you try and recall we managed to convince him to stay another season and we finished 4th that season but didn't get in due to Chelsea winning the CL (2011/12)

So no not wrong...

Even if Leicester do win the league this year it would mean fuck all in the long run.All the top clubs who have been under-performing this season will come back hard.Even if they add couple of quality players they'll find it hard to get the same results they are getting this year.
Mid table mediocrity awaits.
Thats why we have to take our opportunity this season. I mean if Leicester do win the league, they will have that trophy and achievement forever whatever happens in the future.

Ferguson tip Leicester to win with 3 games to spare and West Ham to get a CL place and United and City to miss out. Definitely the end for LVG, I would have thought.

Why would Utd sack a manager based on what Ferguson thinks might happen, that'll be based on available alternatives and who they thinks best for the club.

It's a tribute to the competitiveness of the Premier League that I wouldn't be at all surprised if Leicester won the league this season and were relegated next year. If the odds are good, which they should be, I might even put a little bet on it.

It's only now hitting me that one of Mahrez or Vardy will probably end up on the front cover of Fifa 17 won't they?
