I reckon at 35 he'd rather earn good money without relocating, than be first choice at a mediocre club.
If another decent south England club want him as first choice, I see that. Otherwise I think we would have an easy shot at him.

Cole and Eto would want too much money. Lampard a good player but in a year or two he'd have to be replaced, don't rate Lesscot or Barry.

Cole all day long. Despite who he is, a player of his standard would change the team massively. Lescott is a good player and we need cover there desperately. Barry is a great player but with our plethora of midfielders, I don;t see the point in adding him to the wage bill.
