Can't see us getting Carlton Cole thank god, one of the worst players in the premiership in any position.

Danny Sturridge apparently may leave Chelsea for first team football next season. I'd love him at Spurs. Don't think anything up to £15m would be unfair in the current climate. Him and another target man would be perfect for us.

I'd love Sturridge. Tall, strong, fast, skillfull, good finisher and condusive to a side who want to play good football. I'd be delighted if we signed him. I want him in January.

sturridge is a mercenary, he's not gonna come here. he was holding shitty to ransom over a new contract cos of their money so chelsea picked him up on the contract he wanted iirc.

he would be good for us though.

Basically he engineered a situation that resulted in him going to a better club for more money? Doesn't seem that bad really.

I wonder how much he's on there? I wouldn't have a clue. Can't be more than about 40k can it?

Totally agree, I think a lot of our youngsters could surprise us like Rose has done. Im not bashing Harry because its difficult when we seem to have important games every week this season but I think if we could blood some youngsters it would save a hell of a lot of money and allow big money to go on players who would improve the team.

Here's an idea, use the europa league to blood the youngsters!

so he's smarter than your average footballer is what you're saying

would be a great buy for us but I doubt the chavs will sell him this summer and with Drogba and Anelka getting up there in age he may still end up carving out a long career with the chavs or getting frustrated and running his contract down again

either way I can't see him going anywhere this summer for a reasonable fee after the season he's just had

all im saying is that if we sign him and he proves to be a hit (i.e top 3 scorer for successive season) then you can bet your house he will be off back to man shity or chelsea or even united if we don't pay the silly he will most likely ask for in terms of contract. he's no bale or modric thats for sure.

If he's that much of it hit then I'd deal with the problem of him possibly wanting a move as and when that happens. No point worrying about what he'll do if he does succeed. You're surely better off taking him hoping he'll do well?

personally i'd rather not sign those kinds of players in the first place especially becasue there are other options

Modric and Bale are no different. If we constantly under achieve they'll be off too. If Sturridge came in and was a consistent hit we'd more than likely be challenging for the title and a CL team as all we're really missing is a top striker or 2. Give Bale and Modric a chance to be consistently top quality for 3+ seasons and if we're still under achieving they'll be off to win stuff too. Football players want to get paid as much as they can and win stuff. They're all the same in that regard it's just some are alittle more patient than others.

i get the feeling that he'd still leave us for a mega payday + trophies in madrid or barcelona even if we were winning the PL year in year out

who knows maybe he would, but then again it's not uncommon for players to win alot of stuff somewhere and then want a new challenge in a new country, that's hardly an indictment of their character

If I was a pro footy player and had won loads of stuff in England I too would want to go to Spain for afew seasons and test myself there

I'm disturbed that we want Parker. If he puts a run of games together then I could see my favourite player Sandro getting pissed off. It wouldn't be a problem if Harry new how to rotate but once he has a winning team he won't and we could lose a potentially world class player in Sandro.

I very much doubt Parker coming in would be to the detriment of Sandro especially if we're serious about switching to a 4231/433/451 style formation.
