for Wendy to learn English, Berbatov to leave, new press revelations etc, here's some stuff on tomorrow's game.
Team News
Us: Treatment room regulars King, Rocha, Gardner, Bale and Ekotto all out. Three left-footers damn what are the odds on that? Nothing on the official site yet.
Them: Our old boy Mido has groinboing so he won't be able to terrorise our CBs with his pace and agility. Robert Huth and Emanuel Pogatetz are recovering and could make the squad. physioroom excels itself by saying Mido is hamstrung. They also claim Julio Arca and 'M Bates' have kneecrook
and 'B Jones' has thighthingie.
Form
Our form guide now reads LLDDDL so that's three points from a possible 18. That's half the amount needed for a respectable relegation total. We've drawn three of the last four away, with Newcastle ending a run at Fulham, Bolton and Liverpool.
Boro are on an even more crap run than us. Lost seven this season, including all of the last four games. And they've been good enough to let the oppo score first in 9 of their 11 matches. Like us, they only have one clean sheet, a 2-0 home win against Brum on September 1.
Runes
We are unbeaten against Boro for a couple of seasons and last season won 2-1 at our place and 3-2 at theirs. Berb and Keane scored in both games. And we've beaten them in in the Carling Cup this season. And Wendy's Sevilla totally gubbed them in the UEFA Cup final a couple of years back. It's all good, isn't it?
On past occasions when we've laid down our sword and shield (clap clap) down by the Riverside, Boro has 22 wins, we have 6 with 10 draws. Looking at the Prem only , they have 5 wins, we have 3 with 4 draws.
Adjudication
Mike Dean takes charge. He reffed the Anniversary match, a dull 4-4 home draw with Villa. 8 games so far this season, and he's been flashing like a perv in a park with 46 yellow cards and 4 reds, so expect at least half a dozen cards.
Last season he allowed us to stuff Charlton 5-1 at home, we drew 1-1 at Fulham, won 4-3 at The Spammers, and rew 2-2 at home to The Goons. No losses in his last five games for us - that's not too bad.
Predictions
Lawro has gone completely bonkers. He's tipping us to win almost every game now. Is that why we're
rubbish? Why can't he go back to saying we'll lose all the time. Especially away. Here he is on Saturday's game:
"It's the first big test for new Tottenham boss Juande Ramos - I know he took charge for the win against Blackpool in the Carling Cup in mid-week but this is the real thing. Middlesbrough's downfall last time out when the got beaten 4-1 at Old Trafford was that they came out and had a real
go at Manchester United - and ended up paying for it. The trouble with Boro is they do not have a lot of goals in the side. I expect Ramos to have his Spurs players absolutely fired up and I think they will get the win. Prediction: 1-2."
Sultana is equally drugged up and is prediting a 3-1 win for us.
As for me, bearing in mind that Wendy's only had a few days to train the team, together with the form and runes, us to score first but Boro to draw level and we come away with another draw.
Stats 'n' Facts
This is the FIRST LEAGUE GAME IN CHARGE for Tottenham's next ex-manager.
Both ROBBIE KEANE and JERMAIN DEFOE are on 249 career league appearances.
JUANDE RAMOS would have joined earlier but he was filming a new series of COLUMBO.
No MIDO but LUKE YOUNG could face his old club.
When will we win another league game? Tell me JUANDE, JUANDE, JUANDE.
¡venir en usted estímulo!
